Tunnel Tiergarten Spreebogen
The Tunnel Tiergarten Spreebogen is a 2.4 km long road tunnel in Berlin which connects Berlin Hauptbahnhof and Tiergarten, Berlin, Tiergarten. It is known as Tiergartentunnel. Each section has two lanes and a narrow standing strip. At the northern end there are access roads to Minna-Cauer-Straße and Invalidenstraße. The southern access roads are on Tiergartenstraße and the Reichpietschufer / George C. Marshall Bridge. It is part of the Bundesstraße 96 and the Inner Ring Road, Berlin, Inner Ring Road (Innenstadtring). It was opened on 26 March 2006. Construction began in 2002. A similar tunnel is the SMART Tunnel in Kuala Lumpur. In popular culture In 2004 – two years before it commissioned, the tunnel was used for filming The Bourne Supremacy (film), The Bourne Supremacy, it provides several vehicles in the killing spree. Tiergarten (, literally ''Animal Garden'', historically for ''Deer Garden'') is a locality within the borough of Mitte, in central Berlin (Germany). Notable for the great and homonymous urban park, before German reunification, it was a part of West Berlin. The Invalidenstraße is a street in Berlin, Germany. It runs east to west for through the districts of Mitte and Moabit. The street originally connected three important railway stations in the northern city centre: the Stettiner Bahnhof (today Nordbahnhof), the Hamburger Bahnhof and the Lehrter Bahnhof, the present-day Berlin Hauptbahnhof. History The street was laid out in the 13th century and originally named ''Spandauer Heerweg''. It was renamed after a hostel erected in 1748 by the order of King Frederick II of Prussia, the ''Invalidenhaus'', which served the veterans that fought in the Silesian Wars. Tiergartenstraße is a street in the Tiergarten district in central Berlin, the capital of Germany. The street runs east-west along the southern edge of the Großer Tiergarten park from Kemperplatz and Ben-Gurion-Straße near Sony Center and Potsdamer Platz in the east to the intersection of Hofjägerallee and Klingelhöferstraße in the west. On the street’s southern side, the street intersects with (from east to west), Herbert-von-Karajan-Straße, Stauffenbergstraße, Hildebrandstraße, Hiroshimastraße and Clara-Wieck-Straße. The Bundesstraße 96 (B 96) is a federal highway in Germany. It begins in Zittau in Saxony, close to the border triangle between Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic, heads north through Berlin and ends in Sassnitz on the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea. SMART Tunnel
The Stormwater Management And Road Tunnel (SMART Tunnel), E38, is a storm drainage and road structure in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and a major national project in the country. The tunnel is the longest stormwater drainage tunnel in Southeast Asia and second longest in Asia. The main objective of this tunnel is to solve the problem of flash floods in Kuala Lumpur and to reduce traffic jams along Jalan Sungai Besi and Loke Yew flyover at Pudu during rush hour.
