Edward Rolf Tufte (; born March 14, 1942), sometimes known as "ET",. is an American statistician and professor emeritus of political science, statistics, and computer science at Yale University. He is noted for his writings on information design and as a pioneer in the field of data visualization. Virginia Tufte
Virginia James Tufte (August 19, 1918 – March 28, 2020) was a writer and distinguished emerita professor of English at the University of Southern California. Her special fields were Milton, Renaissance poetry, and the history and grammar of English. Early life and education Virginia James was born in Meadow Grove, Nebraska, one of the ten children of Micah Dickerson James and Sarah Elizabeth Bartee James. Both of her parents were from Virginia. She attended Midland College and worked as a reporter at the ''Omaha World-Herald'' and the ''Nebraska State Journal'' as a young woman. After marriage, Tufte pursued further education, earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska in 1944, a master's degree from Arizona State University, and master's and doctoral degrees in English literature from the University of California, Los Angeles. Olaf Tufte
Olaf Karl Tufte (born 27 April 1976 in Tønsberg) is a Norwegian representative rower, firefighter and farmer. He is a seven time Olympian, and as a single sculler he was twice the Olympic champion and twice the world champion. He's been consistently selected in the Norwegian men's senior national rowing squad since 1996 including his selection as a 2021 Tokyo Olympian where he made his seventh Olympic appearance racing in a quad scull for Norway. Early rowing career Tufte started rowing at aged 17, initially as a means to improve his handle on motor cross. He rows from the Horten Roklubb in Horten, Vestfold on the Oslofjord. He quickly displayed an aptitude for the sport and one year later in 1994, he debuted internationally for Norway rowing a single scull at the 1994 Junior World Rowing Championships. Bård Tufte Johansen (born 19 June 1969 in Skien) is a Norwegian comedian. Together with Harald Eia, he has authored and participated in several successful NRK TV series, such as ''U:Natt'' (1994), starring with Monotelevision, ''Lille Lørdag'' (1995), '' Åpen post'' (1998–2002), '' Uti vår hage'' (2003), '' Team Antonsen'' (2004), '' Tre brødre som ikke er brødre'' (2005), ''Ut i vår hage 2'' (2008) and ''Storbynatt'' (2010).
