Tsewang Dolkar Khangkar
Tsewang Dolkar Khangkar (born 1959 in Kyirong, Tibet) is a doctor of traditional Tibetan medicine, currently exiled in India. Early life She was born in Kyirong, southern Tibet, and about 2 years after 1959 Tibetan uprising, she went into exile in India through Nepal with her mother, a dangerous crossing of the Himalayas during which her two elder brothers died. Studies She studied pulse reading, urine analysis, medicinal plants and minerals used in Traditional Tibetan medicine, pharmacology and Tibetan astrology. Between 1972 and 1978, she studied Tibetan medicine at the Tibetan Medical and Astrology in Dharamshala. From 1978 until 1981, she completed her studies under the guidance of her mother, the famous Dr. Lobsang Dolma Khangkar. Gyirong County
Gyirong (alternatively romanized as sKyid-grong, Kyirong, ; ) is a county of Xigazê Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region. It is famous because of its mild climatically conditions and its abundant vegetation which is unusual for the Tibetan plateau. The capital lies at Zongga. Its name in Tibetan, Dzongka means "mud walls". It is one of the four counties that comprise the Qomolangma National Nature Preserve (Gyirong, Dinggyê, Nyalam, and Tingri). In 1945 Peter Aufschnaiter counted 26 temples and monasteries which covered the area of sKyid-grong and the neighboring La-sdebs. The most famous temple of sKyid-grong is the Byams-sprin lha-khang, erected by the famous Tibetan king Srong-btsan sgam-po (Songtsän Gampo) as one of the four Yang-´dul temples in the 7th century A.D. Cancer
Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread. Tashi Tsering () also called Tashi Tsering Josayma; born in 1960, is a Tibetan tibetologist, historian and writer. Biography Tashi Tsering was born in 1960. He is a founding director of the Amnye Machen Institute. He is also affiliated with the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, and editor of several Tibetan journals, including the Journal of Tibet. Tashi Tsering studied at the Central School for Tibetans Dalhousie in northern India from 1963 to 1971. He studied the history of Tibet, Tibetan literature and Buddhism with Khetsun Sangpo Rinpoche, Dzogchen Khenpo Thubten Phuntsok Rinpoche and Rai Bahadur Burmiok Athing. Jamyang Norbu
Jamyang Norbu (Tibetan: འཇམ་དབྱངས་ནོར་བུ་, Wylie: 'jam-dbyangs nor-bu) is a Tibetan political activist and writer, currently living in the United States, having previously lived for over 40 years as a Tibetan exile in India. Biography Norbu attended St. Joseph's School in Darjeeling, India. As a teenager, he dropped out of school and ran away from home to join the Tibetan guerrilla group Chushi Gangdruk, which operated from Mustang in Nepal.
