Troy Matteson
Troy Jason Matteson (born November 8, 1979) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Amateur career Matteson was born in Rockledge, Florida. He played college golf at Georgia Tech and won the NCAA Individual Championship in 2002. Professional career Nationwide Tour Matteson joined the Nationwide Tour in 2004. He set the record for the most money won in one season on the Nationwide Tour during the 2005 season, picking up $495,009 while recording victories at the Virginia Beach Open and the Mark Christopher Charity Classic. This earned him a promotion to the PGA Tour for 2006. His record was eclipsed in 2009 by Michael Sim. Rockledge, Florida
Rockledge is the oldest city in Brevard County, Florida. The city's population was 24,926 at the 2010 United States Census, and is part of the Palm Bay−Melbourne− Titusville Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Rockledge was officially founded on August 7, 1887, making it the oldest incorporated municipality in Brevard County. The name Rockledge, attributed to Gardner S. Hardee, an early settler, comes from the many ledges of coquina rock that line the Indian River. Other sources refer to a man named Cephas Bailey Magruder, who built his home after settling in the area in 1876 near the Indian River. Bob Hope Classic
The Desert Classic (currently known as The American Express for sponsorship reasons; previously known as the CareerBuilder Challenge, Palm Springs Golf Classic, the Bob Hope Desert Classic, the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, and the Humana Challenge) is a professional golf tournament in southern California on the PGA Tour. Played in mid-winter in the Coachella Valley (greater Palm Springs), it is part of the tour's early season "West Coast Swing." It previously had five rounds of competition (90 holes) rather than the standard of four rounds, and was known for its celebrity pro-am. For many years, the event was named for and hosted by entertainer Bob Hope and featured a number of celebrity participants. Ben Crane
Benjamin McCully Crane (born March 6, 1976) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Early years and amateur career Crane was born in Portland, Oregon. He was introduced to golf at age five by his grandfather. He grew up playing at the nearby Portland Golf Club, where Ben Hogan won the Portland Open in 1945. Crane graduated from Beaverton High School in 1994 and attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, but did not play golf for the Bears. He transferred to the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon and played golf for the Ducks. He graduated in 1999 and turned professional that year. Daniel Chopra
Daniel Samir Chopra (born 23 December 1973) is a Swedish professional golfer. Chopra was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He represents Sweden and his mother was Swedish, but his father was Indian and Daniel moved to India at age seven where he was raised by his grandparents. He won the All-India Junior Golf Championship at age 14. Chopra turned professional in 1992. From 1996 to 2002 he played intermittently on the European Tour, sometimes failing to retain his tour card, and in 2004 he joined the U.S.-based PGA Tour. The John Deere Classic is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It is played annually in July, usually the week before The Open Championship, at TPC Deere Run in the Quad Cities community of Silvis, Illinois. Michael Bradley (golfer)
Michael John Bradley (born July 17, 1966) is an American professional golfer. Bradley was born in Largo, Florida. He attended Oklahoma State University and turned professional in 1988. After turning professional, Bradley joined the Canadian Tour. He won the 1989 Ontario Open and the 1990 Quebec Open. He also shot a 59 in an event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Bradley earned his PGA Tour card through qualifying school in 1992 and played full-time from 1993 to 2000.
