The Audio Of Being
''The Audio Of Being'' is the fourth and final album by the Canadian rock group Matthew Good Band, released in 2001. It included two singles: "Carmelina" and "Anti-Pop". The album sold 73,000 units in Canada by March 2003 and was certified Gold the same month. Recording Matthew Good has stated that the recording process for the album was a "nightmare." In addition to that, Good was very ill during much of the recording sessions. "Anti-Pop" was not originally recorded for the album. After the recording sessions were finished, the band's label requested that the band record another song that could be released as a single. In response, Good wrote "Anti-Pop", which the band then recorded and was later released as the second single from the album. Two songs that were rec ...

Melisende Of Tripoli
Melisende of Tripoli ( 1161) was a princess from the Latin East who was betrothed to the Byzantine emperor Manuel I Komnenos. She was the daughter of Hodierna of Jerusalem and Count Raymond II of Tripoli. Her cousin King Baldwin III of Jerusalem suggested her as the bride to the emperor, who agreed. Preparations were made for the marriage, and the nobility of the Latin East considered Melisende the future Byzantine empress. After long delays, however, the emperor declared that he would not marry Melisende. This severely affected Byzantine relations with the Latin East. Childhood Melisende was the younger of the two children of the count of Tripoli, Raymond II, and Hodierna of Jerusalem. Her older brother, Raymond III, was born in 1140. Melisende was named after her aunt Queen Melisende of Jerusalem, who was the older sister of Countess Hodierna. The marriage of Hodierna and Raymond fell apart because of Raymond's jealousy. Rumours circulated that Hodierna had been unfaith ...

Leo Of Tripoli
Leo of Tripoli (), known in Arabic as Rashīq al-Wardāmī (), and Ghulām Zurāfa (), was a Greek renegade and fleet commander for the Abbasid Caliphate in the early tenth century. He is most notable for his sack of Thessalonica, the Byzantine Empire's second city, in 904. Life Nothing is known of Leo's early life except that he was born in or near Attaleia, the capital of the maritime Cibyrrhaeot Theme, and was captured in an Arab raid and brought to Tripoli. In captivity, he converted to Islam, and entered the service of his captors as a seaman and commander. In Arabic sources he is called Lāwī Abū'l-Ḥārith and given the sobriquet ghulām Zurāfa, "servant/page of Zurafa", probably reflecting the name of his first Muslim master. He is also referred to as Rashīq al-Wardāmī. Alexander Vasiliev interpreted the element ''Wardāmī'' in his second Arabic name to mean that Leo was a Mardaite. The details of Leo's early career in the Muslim fleets are unknown, bu ...
