''Transcendental Medication'' is a 1999 album by Inger Lorre, formerly of The Nymphs. The album includes a duet with Jeff Buckley as well as the song " Yard of Blonde Girls" which Buckley covered on his 1998 posthumous album ''Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk''. It also includes "She's Not Your Friend", a shot at Courtney Love, with whom Inger had had a spat played out across Hole's ''Pretty on the Inside'' album and a Vanity Fair article. Inger Lorre
Inger Lorre (born Lori Ann Wening; August 2, 1963 – October 16, 2024) was an American singer who was best known for her band Nymphs. Music career Nymphs Nymphs spent the mid-to-late 1980s honing their craft in New Jersey, but they soon decided to try to make it big in California. They hadn't been there more than a few months before only Inger and guitarist Geoff Siegel were left. They replaced the other two with guitarist Sam Merrick, drummer Alex Kirst, and bassist Cliff D. (Cliff Jones). The band's distinctive sound, a mixture of punk rock and goth, glam and grunge, and image began to attract the attention of major record labels. At the time, the band simply wanted to sign to an indie label, as most grunge and punk bands did before the 1991 success of Nirvana's ''Nevermind'', but by 1989 Nymphs were signed to Geffen Records with a nearly million-dollar recording contract. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Glam punk is a music genre that began in the early to mid-1970s and incorporates elements of proto-punk and glam rock. Nymphs are an American alternative rock band that performed in the late 1980s and early 1990s with lead singer Inger Lorre. Jeff Buckley
Jeffrey Scott Buckley (raised as Scott Moorhead; November 17, 1966 – May 29, 1997) was an American musician. After a decade as a session guitarist in Los Angeles, he attracted a cult following in the early 1990s performing at venues in the East Village, Manhattan. He signed with Columbia, recruited a band, and released his only studio album, ''Grace'', in 1994. Buckley toured extensively to promote ''Grace'', with concerts in the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Australia. In 1996, Buckley worked on his second album with the working title '' My Sweetheart the Drunk'' in New York City with Tom Verlaine as the producer. In February 1997, he resumed work after moving to Memphis, Tennessee. "Yard of Blonde Girls" is a song written by sisters Audrey Clark of the Boston band the 360s and Lori Kramer of the Paper Squares, who were performing together in the late nineties as Pendulum Floors. Inger Lorre contributed additional lyrics on the second verse, which were written about singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Lorre had a relationship with Buckley, but never told him that the verse was about him."". Buckley and Lorre recorded a demo version of the song in 1996. ''Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk'' is a compilation album by the American singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley, released by Columbia Records on May 26, 1998, a year after his death. It comprises recordings Buckley made while working on his second album, ''My Sweetheart the Drunk'', with the producer Tom Verlaine in 1996 and 1997. It was released after negotiation with Buckley's mother, the owner of his estate, who feared that Sony was trying to exploit his legacy. It received positive reviews.
