Trade Union Pro
Trade Union Pro () is a collective force of working life and one of the largest trade unions in Finland. Pro's members are educated professionals, experts and managers in a wide array of sectors from finance to ICT and communications, service fields and industries to the public sector. Pro has some 120 000 members and negotiates 150 collective agreements. Pro's mission is to improve the working conditions, livelihoods and career prospects of our members and those studying these fields. The union also looks after the well-being of its members. Trade Union Pro believes that a humane working life is a human right. The union foresees international developments and phenomena and develops new solutions for the Finnish working life. History The union was founded in 2011, when the Trade Union Direct merged with the Union of Salaried Employees. The Union of Salaried Employees (TU, , ) was a trade union in Finland. With 125,000 members, TU was a major trade union for workers in industry and industrial services, technics, economy and information. The union was established in 2001, when the Union of Technical Employees merged with the Finnish Industrial and Clerical Employees' Union, the Construction and Engineering Union, and the Swedish Union of Technicians and Foremen. Like all its predecessors, it affiliated to the Finnish Confederation of Salaried Employees (STTK). On formation, the union had 130,000 members, making it STTK's largest affiliate, and the fourth-largest union in Finland. Antti Rinne
Antti Juhani Rinne (; born 3 November 1962) is a Finnish politician who served as speaker of the Parliament of Finland from April to June 2019 and Prime Minister of Finland from June to December 2019. He led the Social Democratic Party from 2014 until 2020. In August 2023, he was hired as the General Secretary of SAMAK for a three-year term. Biography A lawyer by profession, Rinne holds a Candidate of Law degree from the University of Helsinki. He served as chair of the Union of Private Sector Professionals (ERTO) from 2002 to 2005, the Union of Salaried Employees from 2005 to 2010, as well as Trade Union Pro from 2010 to 2014. Confederation Of State Employees' Unions – Pardia
The Confederation of State Employees' Unions (Pardia, , ) was a trade union in Finland. The majority of Pardia's 60,000 members worked in governmental offices and institutions, while others were employed by public utility companies and enterprises. Approximately 50 percent of all Finnish state employees were members of Pardia. In 1990, the Finnish Police Union, the Union of Civil Servants, and the Union of Finnish Employees, all affiliates of the Confederation of Salaried Employees (TVK), formed TVK-State, as an umbrella organisation. The TVK went bankrupt in 1992, and TVK-State was dissolved, and replaced by a new, independent, organisation, the Confederation of State Employees' Organisations (VHKL). Trade involves the transfer of goods and services from one person or entity to another, often in exchange for money. Economists refer to a system or network that allows trade as a market. Traders generally negotiate through a medium of credit or exchange, such as money. Though some economists characterize barter (i.e. trading things without the use of money) as an early form of trade, money was invented before written history began.
