Top Design Australia
Top Design Australia is a reality television series focusing on interior design and renovation, hosted by Jamie Durie. Durie also serves as main judge, along with design critic ''Amanda Talbot'' and architect Nick Tobias. The show is heavily based on the American series of the same name, with a similar format and elimination process. The winner of Top Design received $100,000 in prize money. The first episode premiered on 13 July 2011, on the Nine Network. Jamie Durie
Jamie Paul Durie OAM (born 3 June 1970) is an Australian horticulturalist and landscape designer, furniture designer, television host, television producer, and author of eleven books on landscape architecture, garden design and lifestyle. He is the founder and director of a design company ''PATIO Landscape Architecture'' and ''Durie Design'' and also is a 2008 Gold Medal winner at Britain's prestigious Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show in Chelsea, London for ''Australian Garden and designed by Durie''. As of 2018, Durie has hosted more than 50 design shows around the world. Durie was the television host of the 2008 Australian lifestyle program '' The Outdoor Room'', broadcast on the Seven Network. The Nine Network (stylised 9Network, commonly known as Channel Nine or simply Nine) is an Australian commercial free-to-air television network. Top Design
''Top Design'' is an American reality television series. Interior designers competed to win cash and receive a spot in New York's Designer showcases. The first season premiered on January 31, 2007, following the season finale of ''Top Chef''. Todd Oldham was the host, while famed potter and interior designer Jonathan Adler was lead judge. Kelly Wearstler and Margaret Russell also served as judges. Matt Lorenz was declared the winner. Although the first season received poor ratings, Bravo decided to air a second season starting September 3, 2008, with India Hicks as host and Oldham serving in the role of mentor, similar to Tim Gunn on '' Project Runway''. Daniel Amalm
Daniel Amalm (born 16 February 1979) is an Australian actor and musician. Early life Amalm's mother is Maltese and his father is Swedish. Amalm's father introduced him to guitar from an early age. Amalm's first performances were as a busker in Brisbane's Queen Street Mall with his brother where they were spotted by George Benson's tour manager and invited to Benson's sound check. The Amalm brothers jammed with George Benson and after the jam Benson donated his own money towards a new guitar that the brothers had been saving for. With that guitar Daniel Amalm won a scholarship to study guitar at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and was trained in classical guitar under Julian Byzantine. Amalm performed as one of the guitarists in "An Angel Moves Too Fast To See" written by Rhys Chatham for 100 electric guitars for the Brisbane Biennial on 4–5 June 1993. ''The Block'' is an Australian reality television series broadcast on the Nine Network.
