Toots Thielemans Metro Station
Toots Thielemans is a planned Brussels Metro station on line 3, between Anneessens and Gare du Midi/Zuidstation. It is named after the famous Belgian jazz musician Toots Thielemans Jean-Baptiste Frédéric Isidor, Baron Thielemans (29 April 1922 – 22 August 2016), known professionally as Toots Thielemans (), was a Belgian jazz musician. There have been tunnelling difficulties, delaying the project. It will be from Lemonnier, which will be rebuilt to allow tram connectivity between the South Station and the canal. The Brussels Metro ( ; ) is a rapid transit system serving a large part of the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium. It consists of four conventional metro lines and three '' premetro'' lines. The metro-grade lines are M1, M2, M5, and M6 with some shared sections, covering a total of , with 59 metro-only stations. The ''premetro'' network consists of three tram lines ( T4, T7, and T10) that partly travel over underground sections that were intended to be eventually converted into metro lines. Line 3 is a planned expansion of the Brussels Metro, running from Albert premetro station, Albert, through the existing ''Trams in Brussels, premetro'' (underground tram) tunnel, and eventually terminating at Bordet railway station, Bordet. , it is under construction. Jean-Baptiste Frédéric Isidor, Baron Thielemans (29 April 1922 – 22 August 2016), known professionally as Toots Thielemans (), was a Belgian jazz musician. Lemonnier Premetro Station
Lemonnier () is a '' premetro'' (underground tram) station in central Brussels, Belgium, located near the crossroads between the Boulevard Maurice Lemonnier/Maurice Lemonnierlaan and the Small Ring (Brussels' inner ring road). The station is part of the North–South Axis, a tram tunnel crossing the city centre between Brussels-North railway station and Albert premetro station. Additional tunnel exits exist at Brussels-South railway station, as well as at Lemonnier, allowing trams to leave or enter the tunnel at those points. Tram routes 51 and 82 enter the tunnel at Lemonnier towards the south. Tram routes 4 and 10 also stop at this station. The station is decorated with paintings by the artist Hamsi Boubeker.
