Tony Hoffer
Tony Hoffer is an American record producer, songwriter, and music mixer. Career Hoffer is credited for his work on multiple platinum-selling albums including Travis, The Kooks, The Thrills, Beck, Supergrass, Turin Brakes and Air. His records have been nominated for Grammys and British Mercury Prize Awards for his work with Beck, M83, Chromeo, Silversun Pickups, Depeche Mode and The Thrills. Hoffer is most noted for his production and mixing of albums by Beck, The Fratellis (debuted at #2 in UK charts on 11 Sep 06), The Kooks (one of the top-selling UK albums in 2006), M83, Belle & Sebastian, Fitz and the Tantrums and Air. Hoffer has also worked with Fischerspooner, Grandaddy, the French group Phoenix, Suede, Sondre Lerche, Turin Brakes and Canadian-Irish band Romes. Grandaddy
Grandaddy is an American indie rock band from Modesto, California, Modesto, California. The group was formed in 1992, and featured Jason Lytle, Aaron Burtch, Jim Fairchild, Kevin Garcia and Tim Dryden, until Garcia's death in 2017 following a stroke. After several self-released records and Cassette tape, cassettes, the band signed to Will Records in the US and later the V2 Records subsidiary Big Cat Records in the UK, going on to sign an exclusive deal with V2. The bulk of the band's recorded output was the work of Lytle, who worked primarily in home studios. Grandaddy released four studio albums before splitting in 2006, with band members going on to solo careers and other projects. ''So Much for the City'' is the debut album of the Irish indie/ pop band The Thrills. It was released on 27 May 2003 and quickly achieved success in Ireland, spending 61 weeks in the top 75 of the Irish Albums Chart. The album also won 'Album of the Year' at the national music awards. It gained significant popularity in the UK, debuting at number 3 and remaining in the UK Albums Chart for 25 weeks. ''Life on Other Planets'' is the fourth studio album by English alternative rock band Supergrass. It is the first album that includes Rob Coombes as an official member of the band, and originally went under the working title of ''Get Lost''. The American edition of the album included many bonus tracks and rare live editions. One of these live editions became infamous when it was discovered you can hear a gunshot in the background of the song. It peaked at #9 in the UK charts.
