Tony Del Monaco
Antonio Del Monaco, better known as Tony Del Monaco (27 December 1935 – 27 May 1993), was an Italian pop singer, and actor. Biography Del Monaco was born in the city of Sulmona in Abruzzo, Italy. He started in show business as an actor, appearing in the 1961 musical comedy ''L'adorabile Giulio'' (''The adorable Julio''), starring Carlo Dapporto and Delia Scala. In 1965, he performed on the TV show ''Campioni a Campione'' (''Champions at Campione'') the song "Vita Mia" ("My life"), which he'd composed and which entered the Italian pop charts. In 1959, he debuted at the Vibo Valentia song festival, ranking 3rd with the song "Al ciel manca un angelo" ("The heaven is missing an angel"). In 1967, he participated in the Sanremo Festival with "È più forte di me" ("It's stronger than me"), paired with Betty Curtis, and released "Una spina e una rosa" ("A thorn and a rose") the same year.

Sulmona ( nap, label= Abruzzese, Sulmóne; la, Sulmo; grc, Σουλμῶν, Soulmôn) is a city and ''comune'' of the province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo, Italy. It is located in the Valle Peligna, a plain once occupied by a lake that disappeared in prehistoric times. In the ancient era, it was one of the most important cities of the Paeligni and is known for being the native town of the Roman poet Ovid, of whom there is a bronze statue, located on the town's main road and named after him.
