Tommy Bridewell
Thomas George Bridewell (born 8 August 1988 in Etchilhampton, Wiltshire) will race for Honda Racing UK in the British Championship during 2024. Bridewell is a Superbike Champion in the 2023 British Superbike Championship aboard a Ducati Panigale V4 R. After several seasons with Oxford Products in the British Superbike Championship, for 2023 he switched to Paul Bird Racing on a factory-supported Ducati. During the 2018 season, while competing on a Suzuki GSX-R1000R, his contract was terminated abruptly by his team during practice for the Snetterton Circuit round in June. However in July, after missing two rounds, Bridewell was able to step into the vacant Ducati Panigale seat at Moto Rapido Racing, caused by Taylor Mackenzie leaving earlier by mutual agreement. For the remainder of 2018 Bridewell returned the team's best results in the Superbike class, scoring four podium finishes, narrowly missing out on a Showdown place and achieving the Riders' Cup at the season finale. ... Shaun Muir Racing
Shaun Muir Racing (or SMR) is an international race team based in Guisborough, Cleveland in the north-east of England. The team is owned by Shaun Muir, a former international superbike racer. In 2019, they became the BMW works team using BMW S1000RR machines. They were the 2011 British Superbike Championship winning team with rider Tommy Hill, and again in 2015 with rider Josh Brookes. Shaun Muir Racing began in 2002, moving into the British Superbike Championship in 2004 under the Hydrex Honda banner, staying with Honda until 2011 when they switched to Yamaha machinery going on to win their first title. Ollie Bridewell
Oliver Frederick Bridewell, 10 December 1985 – 20 July 2007), from Etchilhampton, Wiltshire, was a British motorcycle road racer. In 2005, he competed in the British Superstock Championship, as well as a European series one-off at Brands Hatch. In 2006 and 2007, he raced in the British Superbike Championship for Vivaldi Suzuki, alongside his brother Tommy in 2007. His best results were two 8th places. Bridewell died during practice at Mallory Park on 20 July 2007. Torrential rain had made the circuit slippery, and he lost control entering the John Cooper Esses and crashed, suffering head and neck injuries. As with all UK Motorsport events an ambulance was at the scene and tended to him, but without success and he was pronounced dead at the circuit. Endurance racing is a form of motorsport racing which is meant to test the durability of equipment and endurance of participants. Teams of multiple drivers attempt to cover a large distance in a single event, with participants given a break with the ability to change during the race. Endurance races can be run either to cover a set distance in laps as quickly as possible, or to cover as much distance as possible over a preset amount of time. One of the more common lengths of endurance races has been running for , or roughly six hours. Longer races can run for , 12 hours, or even 24 hours. Suzuka 8 Hours
The is a motorcycle endurance race held at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan each year. The race runs for eight hours consecutively and entrants are composed of two or more riders who alternate during pitstops. History The race began in 1978 as a race for prototype Tourist Trophy Formula One (TT-F1) motorcycles which meant the big four Japanese companies (Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha), who had unlimited engineering resources, could use them on the track. Throughout the years, the race had gone through several rule changes in accordance to the FIM, including the restriction to 750cc for F1 bikes. One major change for the race came in 1993. James Westmoreland
James Westmoreland, (born 24 June 1988 at Wyton, East Yorkshire), also known as 'Westy', is an English motorcycle racer. In the 2019-2020 season, he will ride a Suzuki GSX-R1000 in the World Endurance Championship. Westmoreland competed in the British 125 cc and the British Superbike Championship. After finishing twice runner up in the competitive British 125GP field he moved into Supersport for 2007, where he claimed the Cup Championship in his debut season. A move into the main supersport class for 2008 saw him spend several seasons running at the front, taking fourteen podiums and four wins with a best Championship standing of second (just behind eventual World Supersport Champion Sam Lowes). Oulton Park
Oulton Park is a hard surfaced track used for motor racing, close to the village of Little Budworth, Cheshire, England. It is about from Winsford, from Chester city centre, from Northwich and from Warrington, with a nearby rail connection along the Mid-Cheshire Line. Cadwell Park is a motor racing circuit in Lincolnshire, England, south of Louth, owned and operated by MotorSport Vision, a business associated with former racing driver Jonathan Palmer. The Thruxton Circuit is a motor-racing circuit located near the village of Thruxton in Hampshire, England, United Kingdom, about 30 miles north of Southampton. 2010 British Superbike Championship Season
The 2010 British Superbike season was the 23rd British Superbike Championship season. The season commenced on 5 April at Brands Hatch and ended on 10 October at Oulton Park after 26 races at twelve meetings held in England and Scotland. Due to the economic climate many rule changes were discussed including one bike per rider and the banning of electronic aids. The season featured a new Evo Class for less-developed bikes and a new 'Showdown' points system to keep the championship close until the end.
