Tom Corbett
Thomas Wingett Corbett Jr. (born June 17, 1949) is an American politician, lobbyist, and former prosecutor who served as the 46th governor of Pennsylvania from 2011 to 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he was also attorney general of Pennsylvania. Born in Philadelphia, Corbett is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College and St. Mary's University School of Law and served as a captain in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Corbett began his career as an assistant district attorney in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in 1976. Corbett then joined the U.S. Department of Justice as an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, serving from 1980 to 1983, upon entering private practice. In 1988 Corbett was first elected to public office as a Township Commissioner in the Pittsburgh suburb of Shaler, before serving as the United States Attorney for Western Pennsylvania from 1989 to 1993 in the George H. Jim Cawley
James Cawley (born June 22, 1969) is an American politician and administrator who has served as president of Rosemont College since 2022. Cawley previously served as Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania from 2011 to 2015. As of 2025, he is the most recent Republican to hold the office. He has also served on the Board of Commissioners for Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Army National Guard, abbreviated PAARNG, is part of the United States Army National Guard and is based in the U.S. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Attorney General election of 2008 was held on November 4, 2008. The primary election was held on April 22. A Republican would not be elected Attorney General of Pennsylvania again until 2024. Shaler Township is a township in Allegheny County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It consists of much of the community of Glenshaw and several neighboring communities. The population was 28,132 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. History Traders began settling in the Shaler area in the mid-18th century. The most prominent early trader in the area was George Croghan, who came in the early 1740s.
