The Tower of London, officially His Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic citadel and castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London, England. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, which is separated from the eastern edge of the square mile of the City of London by the open space known as Tower Hill. ''Dol'' () or ''doljanchi'' () is a Korean tradition that celebrates a baby's first birthday. The tradition has been practiced since the early Joseon period. The ceremony typically involves the ritual offering of a '' samsinsang'' to the god Samsin (who is said to watch over children), the preparation of a ''dolsang'' with various foods and ritual objects, and a ''doljabi'' (based on the Chinese '' zhuazhou''), where children are encouraged to pick up an object that is said to predict their future. The practice has changed over time. Traditionally, the ''doljanchi'' was held at the family home and involved a number of ritual offerings. Tol Language
Tol (''Tolpan''), also known as Eastern Jicaque, Tolupan, and Torupan, is spoken by approximately 500 Tolupan people in La Montaña de la Flor reservation in Francisco Morazán Department, Honduras. Name Tol speakers refer to themselves as the Tolpán, but are called Jicaques or Turrupanes by ladinos. Former extent Tol was also spoken in much of Yoro Department, but only a few speakers were reported in the Yoro Valley in 1974. Tol used to be spoken from the Río Ulúa in the west, to modern-day Trujillo in the east, and to the Río Sulaco in the inland south. This area included the areas around modern-day El Progreso, La Ceiba, and possibly also San Pedro Sula. Most Tolupan had fled the Spanish from coastal regions by the early 1800s. Trucial States
The Trucial States, also known as the Trucial Coast, the Trucial Sheikhdoms, or Trucial Oman, was a group of tribal confederations to the south of the Persian Gulf (southeastern Arabia) whose leaders had signed protective treaties, or truces, with the United Kingdom between 1820 and 1892. The Trucial States remained an informal British protectorate until the treaties were revoked on 1 December 1971. The Trucial Oman Scouts (), known as Trucial Oman Levies prior to 1956, was a predecessor paramilitary force that operated in the Trucial States under British control from 1951 to 1971, after which they were renamed to the Union Defence Force with the formation of the United Arab Emirates in 1971. In 1976, the force was restructured and is now known as the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces. The Trucial Oman Scouts were a highly respected and impartial gendarmerie and were regarded as well trained, well paid, and efficient.
