Titanic (2012 Miniseries)
''Titanic'' is a four-part television serial and period drama written by Julian Fellowes. It is based on the passenger liner RMS ''Titanic'', which sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in April 1912 following a collision with an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. The series was created by producer Nigel Stafford-Clark and written by Julian Fellowes to mark the 100th anniversary of the maritime disaster on 15 April 1912. It sets out to paint a portrait of a whole society, telling the stories of a wide range of characters, both real and imagined, from every social level. Their narratives are developed and gradually interwoven over the first three episodes, each of which ends in a cliffhanger as the ship begins to founder. The fourth and final episode draws all of the different stories together and reveals to the audience who survives. Stephen Campbell Moore (born Stephen Moore Thorpe, 30 November 1979) is a British actor. He is best known for his roles in Alan Bennett's play '' The History Boys'' and the film based on it. Edward Smith (sea Captain)
Edward John Smith (27 January 1850 – 15 April 1912) was a British sea captain and naval officer. In 1880, he joined the White Star Line as an officer, beginning a long career in the British Merchant Navy. Smith went on to serve as the master of numerous White Star Line vessels. During the Second Boer War, he served in the Royal Naval Reserve, transporting British Imperial troops to the Cape Colony. Smith served as captain of the ocean liner ''Titanic'', and perished along with 1,510 others when she sank on her maiden voyage. Peter the Painter (), also known as Peter Piaktow (or Piatkov, Pjatkov, Piaktoff; ), was a member of a gang of immigrant Latvian anarchists in London in the early 20th century. After supposedly fighting in and escaping the Sidney Street Siege in 1911, he became an anti-hero in London's East End. RMS ''Carpathia'' was a Cunard Line transatlantic crossing, transatlantic passenger steamship built by Swan Hunter, Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson in their shipyard in Wallsend, England. The ''Carpathia'' made her maiden voyage in 1903 from Liverpool to Boston, and continued on this route before being transferred to Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean service in 1904. In April 1912, she became famous for rescuing survivors of the rival White Star Line's after Sinking of the Titanic, it struck an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic Ocean.
