Ticheville () is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France. Geography The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, Le Bocage and Ticheville. The commune along with another 11 communes shares part of a 1,400 hectare, Natura 2000 conservation area, called the Haute Vallée de la Touques et affluents. The commune has the Touques flowing through its borders, plus four other streams, La Roulandiere, The Pres Garreaux, The Tanneries and The Valame. Climate Ticheville benefits from an oceanic climate with mild winters and temperate summers. Jean Baptiste Boisduval
Jean Baptiste Alphonse Déchauffour de Boisduval (24 June 1799 – 30 December 1879) was a French lepidopterist, botanist, and physician. He was one of the most celebrated lepidopterists of France, and was the co-founder of the Société entomologique de France. While best known abroad for his work in entomology, he started his career in botany, collecting a great number of French plant specimens and writing broadly on the topic throughout his career, including the textbook ''Flores française'' in 1828. Early in his career, he was interested in Coleoptera and allied himself with both Jean Théodore Lacordaire and Pierre André Latreille. Haras Du Mezeray
Haras du Mezeray is a French Thoroughbred horse breeding farm located at Ticheville, Orne, in the Lower Normandy region of France. This property was founded in 1962 by prominent horseman Paul de Moussac (1924–1995). The farm maintains one hundred horse stalls and a pre-training center suitable for all-weather galloping. Now run by Charles-Henri de Moussac, Haras du Mezeray maintains up to seventy mares, and its current stallion roster includes Ballingarry, Muhtathir, and Trempolino.
