ThouShaltNot
ThouShaltNot were an American electronic band formed in 1998. Their core lineup consisted of Alex Reed, Aaron Fuleki, and Jeremy Long. The band's musical style blended elements of post-punk, gothic rock, industrial, and synthpop. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, they were signed to Dancing Ferret Discs. The group released four studio albums before disbanding in 2013, with Reed and Fuleki continuing to record music under the name Seeming. Biography The band started as vocalist Alex Reed's solo project, though Aaron Fuleki, whom Reed met as a freshman at The College of Wooster, joined the band in 1999. When ThouShaltNot relocated from Cleveland to Pittsburgh in 2001, Jeremy David Long joined the band. All three are classically trained musicians; Reed earned a Ph.D. in music composition and theory from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005. Seeming
Seeming is a musical act based in Ithaca, New York. Signed to Artoffact Records, they have released three albums since 2014. Seeming is primarily a project of Alex Reed, working with Aaron Fuleki. Both previously played in the band ThouShaltNot. Reed is associate professor of music at Ithaca College, and previously taught at New York University, The University of Florida, and the College of William & Mary. He has also written several books on music including '' Assimilate: A Critical History of Industrial Music''. The Toronto Star describes Seeming's musical style as "cathedral-sized electronic soundscapes consistently whipped to a windblown frenzy," while elsewhere the band is described as "post-anthropocene gothic funk." ''Where's Neil When You Need Him?'' is a tribute album based on the works of fantasy writer Neil Gaiman. Overview The album was released on Dancing Ferret Discs on July 18, 2006. The CD has cover art by Dave McKean and extensive new liner notes from Neil Gaiman and Patrick Rodgers. The album's title was taken from the song "Space Dog", by Tori Amos. Amos became a long-time friend and collaborator of Neil Gaiman after she made a reference to him in the 1991 song " Tear in Your Hand". (She had also made references to Gaiman and his work in her songs "Horses", "Hotel", "Carbon", "Not Dying Today", and "Sister Named Desire".) "Sister Named Desire" is the only work on this album that had previously appeared elsewhere. (The song was originally released as a B-side to Amos' track "Talula".) The Dancing Ferret entertainment group is an unofficial collective name for Dancing Ferret Discs and Dancing Ferret Concerts. It was started by Patrick Rodgers (a.k.a. DJ Ferret) in 1995 in music, 1995 with the formation of Dancing Ferret Concerts. The company markets bands from the gothic rock, Heavy metal music, heavy metal, alternative rock, Neo-Medieval music, neo-Medieval, trip hop, and Industrial music, industrial genres of music. In July 2008, Dancing Ferret Discs made the decision to cease releasing new material on their label starting in November of that year. The Dreamside
The Dreamside is a rock and metal band formed in the Netherlands in 1994. History The band was formed by Italian-Dutch singer Kemi Vita. The Dreamside recorded ''Pale Blue Lights'', the band's debut album, pretty much solo with assistance from various musicians; it was released in 1994 to excellent reviews. To tour the album Vita recruited guitarist Fried Bruggink, who became another core member of the band. The Dreamside's next release, ''Nuda Veritas'' (1995), consisted of several dance/techno remixes of songs from their debut album. In 1996 they released their second album, ''Apaika'', a glossier, more ethereal album than the first. Again reviews were excellent, and the Dreamside steadily became more popular in Europe. Bauhaus are an English rock band formed in Northampton in 1978. Caustic is an American industrial band based out of Madison, Wisconsin, United States, created in 2002 by DJ Matt Fanale (AKA Eurotic), who is the sole consistent member. The band's live lineup varies quite a bit, largely depending on the location of the show. Iris was an American synthpop band, formed by Reagan Jones and Mat Morris in 1993. After the release of their first album '' Disconnect'', Matthew Morris was replaced with Andrew Sega, who pushed the band's sound in a more experimental electronic direction.
