Thierry Hazard
Thierry "Hazard" Gesteau (, ; born 7 June 1962) is a French singer-songwriter. Biography Gesteau was born in Compiègne, and grew up in Sèvres. During the 1980s, he became the singer of the band GPS, an acronym of Garage Psychiatric Suburban (the group's guitarist, Tom "Backerfix" Darnal, became Mano Negra (band), Mano Negra's keyboardist). Hazard released his first solo single "Poupée psychédélique" in 1988 but it passed unnoticed. Two years after, he released "Le Jerk !" which became a huge hit in summer 1990 (#2 in France). Sèvres
Sèvres (, ) is a French Communes of France, commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris. It is located from the Kilometre zero, centre of Paris, in the Hauts-de-Seine department of the Île-de-France region. The commune, which had a population of 23,251 as of 2018, is known for its famous porcelain production at the ''Manufacture nationale de Sèvres'', which was also where the Treaty of Sèvres (1920) was signed. Mano Negra (band)
Mano Negra (complete Spanish name: ''La Mano Negra'', sometimes abbreviated to ''La Mano'' in France) was a French music group active from 1987 to 1994 and fronted by Manu Chao. The group was founded in Paris by Chao, his brother Antoine and their cousin Santiago, all born of Galician and Basque parents with partly Cuban roots. Their songs were mostly in Spanish, English and French, often switching from one language to the other in the same song or in the middle of a sentence or title (e.g. "Puta's Fever"). They also had a hit song in Arabic. They are considered pioneers of world fusion. Michel Polnareff
Michel Polnareff (born 3 July 1944) is a French singer-songwriter who rose to prominence in the 1960s. He is noted for integrating rock and pop elements into his early work. He wrote pop hits such as "La Poupée qui fait non" and "Love Me, Please Love Me." Over the years his music has incorporated classical and electronic styles. Known for his distinctive appearance and stage presence, Polnareff is a notable figure in French pop music. Le Jerk
"Le Jerk !" is a 1989 song recorded by French musician Thierry Hazard. It is the first single from his debut album ''Pop Music'' and was one of the 1990 summer hits in France. It is also Hazard's signature song, although he has released other successful songs. Background "Le Jerk !" was written by Hazard, ans produced by Daniel Glikmans. It was first released as a single in 1989, but passed unnoticed, as well as for the previous single, " Poupée psychédélique", in 1988, but was re-released the following year, at the start of the summer. The song's title refers to a 1970s popular dance and was also used for Hazard's best of album, ''Le Jerk'', released in July 2001. The single's cover was made by French designer Serge Clerc. "Poupée psychédélique" () is a 1990 pop song recorded by French singer Thierry Hazard. Written and composed by Hazard, it was released in December 1990 as the second single from his debut album ''Pop Music'', after being unsuccessfully released a first time two years earlier. It became one of the major hits of 1991 in France, reaching nearly the same level of success as " Le Jerk !", the previous single. Part of the music video consists of an old-fashioned animated cartoon recalling the 60s. Chart performance In France, "Poupée psychédélique" debuted at number 47 on the chart edition of 5 January 1991, climbed regularly and entered the top ten in its seven-week.
