The Void (virtual Reality)
The Void was a franchise of virtual reality entertainment attractions. Co-founded by Ken Bretschneider, James Jensen, and Curtis Hickman as a re-focusing of a plan to build an attraction at Evermore Park in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and described by some as being a virtual reality "theme park", these facilities feature virtual reality experiences leveraging a combination of head-mounted displays with VR positional tracking, positional tracking, haptic technology, haptic feedback and special effects systems to allow patrons to freely explore and interact with virtual settings within the confines of specially designed environments. The Void's locations closed permanently in March 2020. The Void's first location was established in Pleasant Grove in 2015. Haptic technology (also kinaesthetic communication or 3D touch) is technology that can create an experience of touch by applying forces, vibrations, or motions to the user. VR Positional Tracking
In 3D human-computer interaction, positional tracking, also called pose tracking, is a process that tracks the position and/or orientation of head-mounted displays, controllers, or other input devices within Euclidean space. Pose tracking is often referred to as 6DOF tracking, for the six degrees of freedom in which the objects are often tracked. In some consumer GPS systems, orientation data is added additionally using magnetometers, which give partial orientation information, but not the full orientation that pose tracking provides. Evermore Park
Evermore Park was a fantasy adventure theme park in Pleasant Grove, Utah that opened on September 29, 2018, under the direction of Ken Bretschneider. The park allowed guests who visited to interact with trained actors who portrayed fantasy characters. The only traditional ride was "The Evermore Express", a small train that travelled around the park. Evermore had been compared by critics to the fictional Westworld, renaissance fairs, and ''Choose Your Own Adventure'' books. On April 8, 2024, the property's landlord declared the park closed. On August 5, 2024, Travis and Michelle Fox took over the property. On September 20, 2024, the new tenants revealed that the park would be renamed to The Realm Town.
