The Snow Creature
''The Snow Creature'' is a 1954 American science fiction film, science fiction-horror film produced and directed by W. Lee Wilder, for Planet Filmplays Inc., written by Myles Wilder, and starring Paul Langton. Plot In an undisclosed Himalayan country, Dr. Frank Parrish leads a scientific expedition intent on collecting botanical samples. The team includes several Sherpa people, sherpa men, including Subra, who leads the sherpas, as the only one who speaks English. Also along is photographer Peter Wells. Shortly into their work, the expedition is thrown into upheaval when Subra's wife is kidnapped by what Subra insists is a Yeti. Unable to convince Parrish to pursue the Yeti, Subra seizes the expedition's guns and takes control. Parrish and Wells are forces to go along with the sherpas while looking for opportunities to overthrow Subra. Paul Langton
Paul Langton (April 17, 1913 – April 15, 1980) was an American actor perhaps best known for his role as Leslie Harrington on the television series ''Peyton Place (TV series), Peyton Place''. Early years When Langton was 12 years old he moved from Salt Lake City to San Francisco to be with his father, Ernest Langton, a former vaudevillian who then worked in the mailing department of the ''San Francisco Examiner.'' He attended Lowell High School (San Francisco), Lowell High School and the San Francisco Art Institute, California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California. He worked in the press rooms of ''The Salt Lake Telegram'' and the ''Examiner'' to finance his education. Career Langton's early stage experience included acting in productions of the Mountain Play Association in California and the Pasadena Playhouse. ''Them!'' is a 1954 black-and-white science fiction giant monster film starring James Whitmore, Edmund Gwenn, Joan Weldon, and James Arness. Produced by David Weisbart, the film was directed by Gordon Douglas, based on an original story by George Worthing Yates that was developed into a screenplay by Ted Sherdeman, with adaptation by Russell Hughes. The film is one of the first of the 1950s "nuclear monster" movies, and the first with big bugs as the threat. Leonard Michael Maltin (born December 18, 1950) is an American film critic, film historian, and author. He is known for his book of film capsule reviews, '' Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide'', published from 1969 to 2014. Maltin was the film critic on ''Entertainment Tonight'' from 1982 to 2012. He currently teaches at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and hosts the weekly podcast ''Maltin on Movies''. He served two terms as President of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and votes for films to be selected for the National Film Registry. He has written books on animation and the history of film. He has also hosted numerous specials and provided commentary for several films.
