''The Signal'' is a 2007 American horror film written and directed by Independent film, independent filmmakers David Bruckner, Dan Bush and Jacob Gentry. It is told in three parts, in which all telecommunication and audiovisual devices transmit only a mysterious signal turning people mad and activating murderous behaviour in many of those affected. The film's three interconnected chapters ("Transmission (telecommunications), transmissions") are presented in a nonlinear narrative. ''The Signal'' () is a 2007 Argentine-Spanish neo-noir mystery drama film written by Eduardo Mignogna. Mignogna was going to direct the film as well. However, due to his death one year before the start of production, his friend and frequent collaborator, Ricardo Darín, took up the task. He was aided by Martín Hodara, who had his directorial debut. Darín also starred in the lead role, along with Diego Peretti, Julieta Díaz and Andrea Pietra. The film is dedicated to Eduardo Mignogna. Synopsis The film starts ''in medias res'', with Corvalán hiding in a safehouse and preparing himself for a gunfight. The film then takes a step back to the start, in the form of a flashback. ''The Signal'' is a 2014 American science fiction thriller film directed by William Eubank, written by William and Carlyle Eubank and David Frigerio, and starring Brenton Thwaites and Laurence Fishburne. It premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, and was theatrically released in the United States on June 13, 2014. Plot The story is centered around three MIT students named Jonah (Beau Knapp), Nic (Brenton Thwaites), and Haley ( Olivia Cooke) who are on a road trip to take Haley to California. This decision has been adding stress to Nic and Haley's romantic relationship. Nic has limited mobility and uses forearm crutches to walk around.
