Paul Hayden Desser (born February 12, 1971) who records as Hayden, is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Thornhill, Ontario. His early works are a largely eclectic mix of genres from grunge to alternative country, as demonstrated by his first full album, ''Everything I Long For'', released in 1995. Since then his work has become progressively more refined. Early life and education Desser's father is Sherwin Desser, a retired University of Toronto professor of parasitology and current visual artist. Acoustic music is music that solely or primarily uses instruments that produce sound through acoustic means, as opposed to electric or electronic means. While all music was once acoustic, the retronym "acoustic music" appeared after the advent of electric instruments, such as the electric guitar, electric violin, electric organ and synthesizer. Indie Folk
Indie folk is a music genre that arose in the 1990s among musicians from indie rock scenes influenced by folk music. Folk Rock
Folk rock is a hybrid music genre that combines the elements of folk music, folk and rock music, rock music, which arose in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom in the mid-1960s. Howie Beck
Howie Beck is a Canadian musician, mixer and producer based in Toronto, Ontario. He has been nominated for three Juno Awards in Canada on three occasions for Adult Alternative Album, Engineer of the Year and Producer of the Year (2017). History Beck's debut album, 1997's ''Pop and Crash'', was recorded at home while Beck recovered from mononucleosis. Beck performed at the 1999 Stardust Picnic festival at Historic Fort York, Toronto, as well as at the Rancho Relaxo that year. He began to attract attention outside of Canada with 1999's ''Hollow''.
