George Foster Platt
George Foster Platt (July 27, 1866 – November 16, 1928) was an American stage actor as well as a director of stage and filmed shows. He was part of Thanhouser's short-lived Jacksonville, Florida, production unit. Platt was born in Petersburg, Virginia. In April 1892, Platt married actress Beatrice Tait in Philadelphia. He started his career working as an assistant to Winthrop Ames at the Little Theatre. He directed the Modern Players troupe at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee in 1917 drawing a positive review from Sheldon Cheney. ''Woman's Politics'', a comedy in three acts, was copyrighted in his name in 1899. He directed a version of ''The Affairs of Anatol'' in 1912. He worked for Thanhouser. He survived the auto crash that killed Clinton H. Stagg May 5, 1916. He directed the 1918 Broadway musical comedy ''The Squab Farm'' about the film industry featuring three film directors in the cast. ''The Net'' is the seventh studio album by Australian group Little River Band. ''The Net'' was released in May 1983 and peaked at No. 11 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart and No. 61 on the Billboard 200. ''The Net'' was their first full studio release to feature John Farnham as new lead vocalist, replacing Glenn Shorrock, and Stephen Housden taking over as lead guitarist for David Briggs. It was also the last album featuring original member Beeb Birtles, who left the line-up after the US tour in support of its release, and drummer Derek Pellicci, who would rejoin the band in 1987. Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum, often shortened to the Oakland Coliseum, is a multi-purpose stadium in Oakland, California, United States. It serves as part of the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum Complex, located next to Oakland Arena. The Net, formerly known as The Marion, is a planned high-rise office building in Downtown Seattle, Washington, United States. In its current iteration, it is planned to be 36 stories tall and include of office and retail space. The project is being developed by Urban Visions, which previously proposed a 77-story tower on the site that would have become the tallest building in the city. It was later downsized to 60 stories after a design competition and 36 stories after further refinement. Earlier proposals Urban Visions filed preliminary plans in 2013 to build a 77-story supertall skyscraper on property it owned between Marion and Columbia streets in Downtown Seattle. The tower, named the 888 Tower, would have eclipsed the Columbia Center as the tallest building in Seattle. ''The Net'' is a 1923 American silent melodrama film directed by J. Gordon Edwards and starring Barbara Castleton, Raymond Bloomer, and Albert Roscoe. It is a film adaptation of the 1919 Broadway play of the same name, itself based on the novel ''The Woman's Law'' by Maravene Thompson. The film depicts the story of Allayne Norman (Castleton) and her husband Bruce (Bloomer). Bruce commits murder and convinces Allayne to help him blame the crime on a man suffering from amnesia (Roscoe). After Bruce dies and the man recovers, he marries Allayne. The film's release was delayed almost a year from its originally announced date. Contemporary reviews were mixed to negative.
