''The Nation'' is an English-language daily online newspaper founded in 1971, published in Bangkok, Thailand. It is one of two English-language dailies in Bangkok, the other being the ''Bangkok Post''. On 28 June 2019, it published its final broadsheet edition, leaving only its online edition. ''The Nation'' is Thailand's only Thai-owned English-language newspaper, It is owned by the Nation Group and is a member of the Asia News Network. It was considered a newspaper of record in Thailand. History ''The Nation'' was founded by Suthichai Yoon on 1 July 1971 as ''The Voice of the Nation''. The name was eventually shortened to ''The Nation''. Asia News Network (ANN) is a news coalition of 24 news organisations from various Asian countries. Headquartered in Singapore, it was established in 1999 to form an alliance and enhance co-operation among the various news organisations and their respective journalists and newspapers. Through the coalition, members pool resources and expertise to offer in-depth coverage of regional and international issues by presenting local viewpoints on complex topics. Cambodian–Thai Border Dispute
The Cambodian–Thai border dispute began in June 2008 as part of a century-long dispute between Cambodia and Thailand involving the area surrounding the 11th-century Preah Vihear Temple, in the Dângrêk Mountains between Choam Khsant District, Preah Vihear Province of northern Cambodia and the Amphoe Kantharalak, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province of northeastern Thailand. ''Khaosod'' (, , ; literally meaning 'fresh news' or 'live news') is a Thai daily newspaper with national circulation. Its online version is ''Khaosod Online''. ''Khaosod'' is the youngest paper of the Matichon Publishing Group which also operates two other daily news publications, ''Matichon'' and ''Prachachat''. Pravit Rojanaphruk
Pravit Rojanaphruk (; ) (born 1967) is a Thai journalist who works as a senior staff writer for ' ('fresh news'). He formerly wrote a regular column for ''The Nation'', an English-language newspaper in Thailand, but was pressured to resign due to his political opinions following the 2014 coup d'état. Before the military coup, he was a prominent champion of democracy and free expression and was consequently investigated several times. Immediately after the coup, he was arrested on a charge of lèse majesté and detained for a week. Since the coup, he has been critical of the ruling junta and its efforts to limit freedom. Pravit has been detained for "attitude adjustment" twice by the ruling junta and as of 2017, has sedition charges against him for Facebook posts he made earlier that year. 2014 Thai Coup D'état

Thaksin Shinawatra
Thaksin Shinawatra (, ; born 26 July 1949) is a Thai businessman and politician who was the 23rd prime minister of Thailand from 2001 to 2006. Since 2009 he has also been a citizen of Montenegro. Thaksin founded the mobile phone operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) and the information technology and telecommunications conglomerate Shin Corporation in 1987, ultimately making him one of the richest people in Thailand.
