The Micronauts
The Micronauts are a Paris-based dance music act. They formed when Christophe Monier met Canada-born George Issakidis whilst working at the Parisian music fanzine eDEN. The first release was a 12 inch called "The Jazz." They continued to work throughout the 1990s, developing an acid techno style of their own. This attracted the attention of high-profile artists, such as The Chemical Brothers and Underworld. Indeed, their remix of ''Block Rockin' Beats'' appears on The Chemical Brothers' DJ mix album '' Brothers Gonna Work It Out'' and their remix of Underworld's ''Bruce Lee'' was also widely distributed. At the end of the decade they were signed to the Astralwerks label and soon after released ''The Jag''. One year later, in 2000, they released their debut EP, '' Bleep to Bleep''. Underworld (band)
Underworld are a British electronic music group formed in 1987 in Cardiff, Wales (although active in several other guises since 1978), and the principal collaborative project of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith (musician), Rick Smith. Mirwais Ahmadzaï (born 23 October 1960), known mononymously as Mirwais, is a French electronic dance music record producer and songwriter, born in Lausanne, Switzerland to an Afghanistan, Afghan father and an Italians, Italian mother. Its material is distributed via Capitol Music Group in the United States. ''Brothers Gonna Work It Out'' is a compilation album by English big beat duo The Chemical Brothers, containing various artists' work mixed by the duo. It was released on 22 September 1998. The cover features a picture of Our Lady of Fatima church in Harlow, Essex, England. "Block Rockin' Beats" is a song by British big beat duo the Chemical Brothers. Released in March 1997 by Freestyle Dust and Virgin Records as the second single and opening track from their second studio album, ''Dig Your Own Hole'' (1997), it topped the UK Singles Chart and peaked at number 40 on the US ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart. It received a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
