The Front (band)
The Front was an American rock band, originally formed in 1984 in Kansas City, Missouri, who enjoyed a brief popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Although originally offered a recording contract in 1987 with Sire/Warner Brothers Records, The Front signed an exclusive management contract with Scott and Doc McGhee of McGhee Entertainment, the team behind Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, Scorpions and Skid Row. A bidding war began with The Front ultimately signing with CBS Records in 1989. Bang Tango
Bang Tango is an American hard rock band. The band was formed in Los Angeles in 1988 and was signed to MCA Records the same year. History Formation (1988) Initially the band was founded by guitarist Mark Knight and bassist Kyle Kyle in 1988. Knight wanted a second guitarist and recruited Kyle Stevens. At the suggestion of Rough Cutt's Amir Derakh, vocalist Joe Lesté joined the band as its frontman which led to Lesté's childhood friend, Tigg Ketler, completing the five piece line up as Bang Tango's drummer. The band then began to play shows and gained a following on the Sunset Strip scene in Hollywood, packing all the popular clubs and venues at the time, which led to a bidding war with many major labels. Mark Dodson (born 10 September 1953) is a British record producer and sound engineer, who mostly works with artists in the heavy metal genre. He is best known for producing albums by Anthrax, Judas Priest and Suicidal Tendencies. Biography Dodson's musical career began in the late 1970s, engineering recordings by Advertising, Judas Priest, Joan Jett and mixing an album by Jonathan Richman's proto punk garage band, The Modern Lovers. He also worked for a number of heavy metal artists, such as Metal Church, Ozzy Osbourne, Prong (band), Prong, Glenn Tipton, U.D.O. and Ugly Kid Joe. Headbangers Ball
''Headbangers Ball'' is a music television program that consists of heavy metal music videos airing on MTV and its global affiliates. The show began on MTV on April 18, 1987, playing heavy metal music videos from both well-known and more obscure artists. The show offered (and became famous because of) a stark contrast to Top 40 music videos shown during the day. However, with the mainstream rise of alternative rock, grunge, pop punk and rap music in the 1990s, the relevance of ''Headbangers Ball'' came into question, and the show was ultimately canceled in 1995. Over eight years later, as new genres of heavy metal were gaining a commercial foothold and fan interest became unavoidable, the program was reintroduced on MTV2.
