Despite the title, the album contains tracks from 1985 to 2004, though the original version of "Take On Me" was released in 1984. The album contains 17 of their hits plus an enhanced video for the song "Take On Me". The track listing of this album is slightly different from that of ''The Singles: 1984–2004''. It marked the return of A-ha to the top 20 of the UK Albums Chart, where it peaked at number 14. The album re-entered the chart at number 99 in 2015. A-ha (usually stylised as ''a-''h''a''; ) is a Norwegian synth-pop band formed in Oslo in 1982. Founded by Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (guitars and vocals), Magne Furuholmen (keyboards, guitars and vocals), and Morten Harket (lead vocals), the band rose to fame during the mid-1980s. A-ha achieved their biggest success with their debut album '' Hunting High and Low'' in 1985. Background The album was recorded primarily at Prince's Paisley Park studios outside Minneapolis in the United States. Named after a Norwegian fairy tale, the album was something of a departure from the band's earlier radio-friendly sound to a darker, moodier tone. "Crying in the Rain" is a song composed by Carole King with lyrics by Howard Greenfield, originally recorded by American duo the Everly Brothers. The single peaked at number six on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1962. ''Stay on These Roads'' is the third studio album by Norwegian band A-ha, released on 3 May 1988 by Warner Bros. Records. Six singles were released from the album. Recording A Synclavier, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, Yamaha DX-7, Roland D-50, and Roland Juno-60 or Roland Juno-106 synthesizers were used in the recording of this album, as was a Yamaha RX-5 drum machine. ''The Living Daylights'' is the soundtrack title for the film ''The Living Daylights'' and the eleventh and final Bond soundtrack to be scored by composer John Barry. The soundtrack is notable for its introduction of sequenced electronic rhythm tracks overdubbed with the orchestra – at the time, a relatively new innovation. The title song of the film, "The Living Daylights", was recorded by Norwegian pop group A-ha. As of 2017 this is the only Bond film where the title song has not been performed by either British or American artists. "The Living Daylights" is the theme song from the 1987 James Bond film of the same name, performed by Norwegian band A-ha. It was written by guitarist Pål Waaktaar. A revised version of the song was included on the band's third studio album, '' Stay on These Roads'' (1988). Origin and recording John Barry is credited as co-writer and producer, and the initial release of the song was his version. A second version of the song, re-worked by A-ha in 1988, later appeared on their third studio album, '' Stay on These Roads''. When interviewed on a late-night show in 1987, Barry said that he found working with the band exhausting secondary to the band's insistence on using their own version of the song for release. "Manhattan Skyline" is a song by Norwegian band A-ha, released in February 1987 as the third single from their second studio album, ''Scoundrel Days'' (1986). It reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was co-written by keyboardist Magne Furuholmen and guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy. The song starts with Furuholmen playing a Harpsichord synthesizer sound in F major, before kicking into a hard rock-style chorus with a guitar riff in D minor. In the official A-ha biography, ''The Swing of Things 1985–2010'' by Jan Omdahl, Furuholmen said: "Manhattan Skyline" was perhaps one of the most inspired cut and paste projects that Paul and I did.
