The Bobby Fuller Four (sometimes stylized as Bobby Fuller 4) was a popular mid-1960s American rock & roll band started by Bobby Fuller. First formed in 1962 in Fuller's hometown of El Paso, Texas, the group went on to produce some of its most memorable hits under the Mustang Records label in Hollywood, California. Randall Fuller (January 29, 1944 – May 16, 2024) was an American rock singer, songwriter, and bass player best known for his work in the popular 1960s rock group the Bobby Fuller Four with his older brother, Bobby Fuller. Life and career Randy Fuller was the child of Lawson and Loraine Fuller and the younger brother of Bobby Fuller. Lawson Fuller worked in the oil industry, and the family moved around the Western USA often, eventually settling in El Paso, Texas. The boys were always interested in music, though Bobby was the real prodigy in the family. Randy played trombone in the school band and eventually learned electric bass to accompany his older brother in his rock and roll endeavors. Bob Montgomery (May 12, 1937 – December 4, 2014) was an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and publisher. Career Montgomery was born in Lampasas, Texas southwest of Waco, Texas, Waco. He was a songwriting partner and best friend of Buddy Holly and they performed together as the duo "Buddy and Bob" while teenagers in high school. Initially they played a variety of bluegrass music, which evolved into rockabilly sounds. Montgomery met Holly at Hutchinson Junior High School in Lubbock, Texas, in 1949. They started playing together at School assembly, school assemblies and on local radio shows. Montgomery sang lead and Holly harmonized. John Barbata (April 1, 1945 – May 8, 2024) was an American drummer who was active especially in pop and rock bands in the 1960s and 1970s, both as a band member and as a session drummer.
