''The Arrival'' is a 2013 installation, which consists of two paintings and a glass wall, by artist Casey Roberts and is located within the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital, near downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, and is part of the Eskenazi Health Art Collection. Description ''The Arrival'' is a 2013 installation by Casey Roberts, which consists of a patterned glass wall and door and two paintings. The wall, which measured 78.25" x 262", framed, consists of two panels of glass that have been fused together, and then decorated with both semi-translucent and opaque decoration, including trees and new and budding plants, creating a frosted effect. The paintings, both which measure 69.5" square, framed, were created by painting paper with cyanotype chemicals before completing the work with additional painting and flower collage. Sidney And Lois Eskenazi Hospital
The Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital is a public hospital located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The hospital is the flagship medical center for Eskenazi Health, founded in 1859 as Indiana's oldest public healthcare system. The hospital is operated by Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County. The current hospital opened December 7, 2013, less than to the west of the original campus, replacing Wishard Memorial Hospital. Many of Eskenazi Hospital's 4,620 medical staff are provided by a mix of faculty, residents, and students of the adjacent Indiana University School of Medicine. Eskenazi Health Art Collection
The Eskenazi Health Art Collection consists of a wide variety of artworks composed of fragments from the 1914 City Hospital mural and artwork project, artworks added over time, and newer pieces which include works created for the new Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and campus in 2013. Other works have been added occasionally; there are also artworks at the clinics throughout Marion County. 1914 City Hospital mural and artwork project In 1911, the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital, Indianapolis City Hospital expanded by adding two dedicated patient buildings, the Burdsal Units, named after Alfred Burdsal, a wealthy businessman and the project's benefactor.
