Texas Lightning (band)
Texas Lightning is a German quintet from Hamburg which fits in the country music genre and describes itself as old fashioned and hip. Their music is a mix of country and pop drawing from country classic stars like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette and pop stars such as ABBA, Nancy Sinatra, Linda Ronstadt, Madonna, Michael Jackson and the Beatles, performed with some country humour. The band members are Olli Dittrich as Ringofire (drums and vocals), Jon Flemming Olsen as The Flame (vocals and guitar), Markus Schmidt as Fastfinger (electric guitar and banjo), Uwe Frenzel as Friendly (doublebass and vocals) and Australian Jane Comerford (vocals and ukulele). Olli Dittrich
Oliver Michael Dittrich (born 20 November 1956) is a German television personality, comedian, actor, and musician. Life Dittrich completed a three year-education as a theatre painter in the Hamburg State Opera (1975–1978). At the same time, he started his professional career as a musician, composer, and songwriter. Dittrich became famous in Germany for his work as an actor and comedian in the comedy television show ''RTL Samstag Nacht''. He appeared in films and TV series but has also performed live on stage. He sang and played in the band '' Die Doofen'' with Wigald Boning, which sold over 1,5 mio copies with only two albums. In 1995, the duo started playing as one of the supporting acts with Jon Bon Jovi on his stadium tour through Germany. Jane Comerford (born 1 January 1959) is an Australian singer, songwriter, lecturer, and vocal coach working in Germany. Education She has jazz dance training in Los Angeles. Further, she went on to study singing in Hamburg, Vienna and Amsterdam, as well as learned to play ukulele. Career as singer From Australia via America to Europe In 1983 she released a Hi NRG cover version of "In the Year 2525" under the pseudonym "Jane Rossi". ''Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch...'' is a pop/country album by the German band Texas Lightning, made up of country-style covers of pop songs. The album was re-released on 3 March 2006, including the song "No No Never" from Texas Lightning's Eurovision entry. "No No Never" has music & lyrics written by Jane Comerford; it was a huge hit all over Europe in 2006, and Germany's entry for that year's Eurovision finals.
