Tex Thompson
Harry "Tex" Thompson (Thomson pre-1993) is a superhero owned by DC Comics who later became the masked crime-fighter Mr. America and then became an espionage operative called Americommando. He was often aided by his best friend Bob Daley, who for a brief time operated as his costumed sidekick "Fatman". Created by Ken Fitch and Bernard Baily, Tex debuted in ''Action Comics'' #1 (June 1938), the same comic that introduced Superman. During his original stories of the 1940s, several of his enemies were based on Yellow Peril stereotypes. Several of his earliest stories featured Gargantua T. Potts, a character based around minstrel show stereotypes about African-Americans. The "Tex Thomson" series in ''Action Comics'' featured Tex and his friend Bob Daley investigating various crimes and mysteries, sometimes alongside law enforcement. Miss X (character)
Miss X is a character in the DC Comics universe. She first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #26 (May 1940), in the feature "Tex Thompson". Although her secret identity was never expressly revealed, the reader was led to believe it was Margaret Janice Peggy Maloney, the daughter of District Attorney Maloney. Fictional character biography Miss X aided Tex Thompson and Bob Daley after the third member of their team, Gargantua T. Potts, left to become a cook in the French Army. She wore no costume, and her sole disguise consisted of a pair of dark sunglasses. Tex was intrigued and obsessed with finding out who the mysterious Miss X was. In the final panel of ''Action Comics'' #29, he confided to his partner that he thought he had figured out who she was. In ''Action Comics'' #33, Thompson was declared dead. Doctor Mid-Nite (or Doctor Midnight) is the name of multiple superheroes published in American comic books by DC Comics. The original version of the character was first created by writer Charles Reizenstein and artist Stanley Josephs Aschmeier in 1941, debuting in '' All-American Comics'' #25 (April 1941). All versions of the character are depicted as blinded superheroes capable of seeing in darkness and serve as physicians of normal and metahuman superheroes of the DC Universe. As a blind character, Doctor Mid-Nite is widely regarded as the first superhero in comics to exhibit a physical impairment, pre-dating the creation of Daredevil of Marvel Comics by more than twenty years. Terry Sloane is a fictional superhero appearing in DC Comics, and the first character named Mister Terrific (character), Mister Terrific. He first appeared in ''Sensation Comics'' #1 (January 1942). Fictional character biography Terry Sloane was a rich man whose photographic memory, Olympic-level athletic skills, and mastery of the martial arts made him a virtual Polymath, Renaissance man. Black Canary is the name of two superheroines appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics.
