Terry Matte
Terry Matte (c. 1943 – December 28, 2009) was a news producer for CBWT's ''24Hours'' program in Winnipeg in the 1980s before moving to Ottawa where he was senior producer for "Newsday", CBC Ottawa's supper-hour, television newscast. Previous to that, he was The National's Manitoba correspondent responsible for coverage of Northwestern Ontario and Canada's North. Life Matter was born in Victoria, B.C. and graduated from the University of Toronto. He has a son, Andrew Matte, who works as an editor for Regina Leader Post. Career He started his career in newspapers in the late 1960s, and was a reporter and assistant city editor at the Toronto Telegram ''The Toronto Evening Telegram'' was a conservative, broadsheet afternoon newspaper published in Toronto from 1876 to 1971. CBWT
CBWT-DT (channel 6) is a CBC Television station in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It has common ownership with Ici Radio-Canada Télé station CBWFT-DT (channel 3). The two stations share studios on Portage Avenue and Young Street in Downtown Winnipeg; CBWT-DT's transmitter is located near Red Coat Trail/ Highway 2 in Macdonald. History Planning for CBWT started in November 1952, when the Government of Canada announced its intention of setting up a television station in Winnipeg. The station was announced by J. R. Finlay at a Cosmopolitan Club meeting at the Marlborough Hotel on September 16, 1953.
