Teodor Neș National College
Teodor Neș National College () is a high school located at 90 Republicii Street, Salonta, Romania. In 1903–1904, at a time when the area belonged to Austria-Hungary, the city council, followed by the Bihar County council, requested the establishment of a high school. This was approved by the national government, and the institution opened in autumn 1907 as the county's first state high school. The building, designed by , was completed two years later. Romanian-language classes were introduced in 1919, following the union of Transylvania with Romania, while Hungarian classes continued. A dormitory and cafeteria opened in 1922. The school was in danger of closure in 1931, and was downgraded to a gymnasium the following year, named after King Carol II. Upper-level classes were reintroduced in 1937; the school acquired an agricultural orientation in 1938, but this was not a success. Tiberiu Olah (2 January 1928 – 2 October 2002) was a Romanian composer, teacher, and musicologist of Hungarian ethnicity. Biography Olah was born in Arpășel village, Batăr commune, Bihor County, the son of Ioan Olah, a notary, and Maria Olah, ''née'' Molnar. After going to elementary school is his native commune, he attended from 1938 to 1940 the King Carol II High School in nearby Salonta, and then went to Oradea, completing his secondary education in 1946 at the Emanuil Gojdu High School. He then moved to Cluj, where he began his musical studies at the Cluj Conservatory. From 1949 to 1954, he studied at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1954 he settled in Bucharest, where he lived in an apartment on Calea Victoriei. In 1958 he took a position as a lecturer and later as a professor at the Bucharest Conservatory. János Arany (; archaic English: John Arany; 2 March 1817 – 22 October 1882) was a Hungarian poet, writer, translator and journalist.
