''Tenterfield Dreams: The Musical Journey of Peter Allen'' is the fifth studio album by Australian recording artist Colleen Hewett, released in June 1997. The album is a tribute album to Australian musician Peter Allen who died in 1992. In an interview with ''The Age'' in August 1997, Hewett was asked if she knew Allen. She said "Look I'm not going to pretend he was my greatest friend. But we used to see each other, send each other flowers before concerts. I've always sung Peter Allen songs", adding "There seemed to be an awful lot of Peter's songs, so we thought we'd just do a tribute to him." Colleen Hewett
Colleen Hewett (born 16 April 1950) is an Australian singer and actress. Hewett's top 40 singles on the Kent Music Report include "Super Star", " Day by Day" (both 1971), " Carry That Weight" (1972), "Dreaming My Dreams with You" (1980) and "Gigolo" (1981). Her version of "Day by Day" peaked at No. 1 on the ''Go-Set'' National Top 40 Singles Chart and was certified as a gold record. At the '' TV Week'' King of Pop Awards she was voted Queen of Pop in both 1972 and 1973. Peter Allen (born Peter Richard Woolnough; 10 February 1944 – 18 June 1992) was an Australian singer-songwriter, musician and entertainer, known for his flamboyant stage persona, boundless energy, and lavish costumes. His songs were made popular by many recording artists, including Elkie Brooks, Melissa Manchester and Olivia Newton-John, including Newton-John's first chart topping hit "I Honestly Love You", and the chart topping and Academy Award winning "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" by Christopher Cross.
