Telford Tigers
The Telford Tigers are a National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) ice hockey team that formed in 1985. After initially closing in 1999, a new team, under the name 'Telford Wild Foxes', was formed in 2001; and re-adopted the original name in 2005. The team is currently owned by Givarna Ltd. In November 2016, faced with mounting debts, the team began the process of entering creditors voluntary liquidation. A creditors' meeting, which would have decided the fate of the club, was scheduled for 30 November 2016, but on 25 November a consortium of local businesses intervened and acquired the club's assets, securing its future for the remainder of the season. Telford () is a town in the Telford and Wrekin borough status in the United Kingdom, borough in Shropshire, England. The wider borough covers the town, its suburbs and surrounding towns and villages. Peterborough Phantoms
The Peterborough Phantoms are a British ice hockey team that play at the Planet Ice Peterborough Arena, in Bretton, Peterborough. The Peterborough Phantoms ice hockey club was founded in 2002. It replaced the former city based team, the Peterborough Pirates, and plays in the same arena. The team currently competes in the semi-professional National Ice Hockey League, the second tier in British ice hockey below the fully professional Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). They previously played in the English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL). The team won the English Premier League and Cup Double in its first season (2002–03) and retained the Cup the following year. The Slough Jets are an ice hockey team from Slough, Berkshire, England playing in the NIHL South Division 1. The team was founded in 1986 after the construction of the Slough Ice Arena in Montem Lane in Slough and joined the first division of the British League. With the help of Gary Stefan who had previously been with Streatham Redskins, the Slough Jets were formed. Edinburgh Capitals
The Edinburgh Capitals are a Scottish ice hockey club, playing in the Scottish National League (SNL). They are based in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. The team play at the Murrayfield Ice Rink, close to Murrayfield Rugby stadium. In April 2018, a consortium led by David Hand (brother of ex-Racer Tony) won the contract for ice time at Murrayfield, effectively rendering the Capitals homeless. The newly formed Murrayfield Racers applied to join the EIHL and take the Capitals' place but were rejected, plunging the future of top level ice hockey in the city into jeopardy. Marc Lovell
Marc Lovell (born 2 June 1982 in Chester, England) is an English professional ice hockey player, currently playing for the Flintshire Freeze in the English National Ice Hockey League. Lovell began his career in 2002 after having been encouraged by watching the Deeside Dragons. After teaching himself to skate and then play to a reasonable standard, he began to play for the Telford Wild Foxes in the English Premier Ice Hockey League. His first season was an excellent one, and in 33 games scored 14 goals and 12 assists as well as totalling 34 penalty minutes. He would start the following 2003/04 season as a WildFox, but was quickly signed up by the Manchester Phoenix, a newly established team icing in the Elite Ice Hockey League, the highest standard of club hockey in the United Kingdom. The Coventry Blaze are a British professional ice hockey team based in Coventry, England. They currently compete in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) and play their home games at SkyDome Arena. Manchester Phoenix were a semi professional ice hockey team from Greater Manchester, England. The club was formed in 2003 as a result of the efforts of supporters group ''Friends of Manchester Ice Hockey'' to bring top-level ice hockey back to Manchester after Manchester Storm (1995–2002), Manchester Storm folded in 2002. The Phoenix team was a founder member of the Elite Ice Hockey League upon its formation in 2003, playing in the 17,500 capacity Manchester Arena. The cost of using such a large facility proved financially untenable, and Phoenix suspended playing operations in 2004 pending the construction of a smaller purpose built ice facility. The Milton Keynes Lightning are an ice hockey team founded in 2002 and then again in 2019 in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Tom Carlon
Tom Carlon (born 18 February 1987 in Telford, England) is an English former professional ice hockey player, who last played for the Milton Keynes Thunder in the National Ice Hockey League as their team captain. Career Carlon began his career playing for his local team, the Telford Wild Foxes of the EngL. In his first season, Carlon managed to play 24 games and total 11 points, which was an impressive amount for a young teenager, aged 14 and a half. Carlon also Captained the GB U18 side. He has won many medals while playing for GB. Carlon saw his name and stick go into the hall of fame in Canada when he scored the game-winning goal in the world championships to win the gold medal. The Guildford Flames are a professional ice hockey team based in Guildford, Surrey and they play their home games in the Guildford Spectrum.
