Tegal is a city in the northwest part of Central Java of Indonesia. It is situated on the north coast (or ''pesisir'') of the province of Central Java, about from Semarang, the capital of the province. Tegal Regency
Tegal Regency ( Javanese:ꦏꦧꦸꦥꦠꦺꦤ꧀ꦠꦺꦒꦭ꧀) is one of the regencies (''kabupaten'') in the northwest corner of Central Java province of Indonesia, with an area of . The regency's administrative center used to be in Tegal City, in the northwest corner of the regency, but then Tegal City was administratively separated from the regency and formed into its own territory. The city was later replaced as the administrative center of Tegal Regency by Slawi Town, which is a suburb about to the south of the city and within the district boundary. Ikmal Jaya
Ikmal Jaya (born 14 July 1973) is an Indonesian businessman and former politician who served as the mayor of Tegal, Central Java, between 2009 and 2014. After his tenure as mayor, he was arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission, and was imprisoned until 2022. Early life Ikmal Jaya was born on 14 July 1973 in Tegal. Dedy Yon Supriyono (born 14 August 1980) is an Indonesian politician who is the mayor-elect of Tegal, Central Java, having previously served between 2019–2024. Early life Supriyono was born in Brebes Regency on 14 August 1980, the son of a successful local entrepreneur Muhadi Setiabudi. Career Between 2009 and 2014, Supriyono served in the legislature of Brebes Regency, where he was deputy speaker. Siti Masitha Soeparno
Siti Masitha Soeparno (born 10 January 1964) is an Indonesian businesswoman and politician. She served as the mayor of Tegal in Central Java from 2014 to 2017. On the evening of Tuesday, 29 August 2017, Soeparno was arrested on graft charges by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), leading to her removal from office. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo referred to her arrest as a heavy blow to the entire province and called for a meeting of all mayors as a warning. Soeparno was arrested during a city council meeting at her official residence at the city hall complex. The Commission sealed the Kardinah Regional General Hospital just before the arrest, and the charges were allegedly related to Soeparno's approval of a new ICU built at the hospital.
