Comedian
A comedian or comic is a person who seeks to entertain an audience by making them laugh. This might be through jokes or amusing situations, or acting foolish (as in slapstick), or employing prop comedy. A comedian who addresses an audience directly is called a stand-up comedian. A popular saying often attributed to Ed Wynn attempts to differentiate the two terms: "A comic says funny things; a comedian says things funny." This draws a distinction between how much of the comedy can be attributed to verbal content and how much to acting and persona. Since the 1980s, a new wave of comedy, called alternative comedy, has grown in popularity with its more offbeat and experimental style. Oscar Nunez (born November 18, 1958), sometimes credited as Oscar Nuñez, is a Cuban-American actor. He is best known for his role as the Dunder Mifflin accountant Oscar Martinez on NBC's ''The Office''. He was a member of The Groundlings and later became a regular cast member on ''The Office''. He also created and co-starred in the Comedy Central series '' Halfway Home'' in 2007, and in 2014 co-starred in the short-lived USA Network comedy series '' Benched''. ''Stop Podcasting Yourself'' is a Canadian comedy podcast distributed on the Maximum Fun network hosted by Graham Clark and Dave Shumka. Each week the comedy duo invites a guest (usually a fellow comedian) onto the program for a conversational interview. It is sometimes referred to by its acronym, SPY. The podcast is a three-time Canadian Comedy Award Winner for Best Podcast/Best Audio Show or Series, winning the award in 2012, 2013 and 2014. History Stop Podcasting Yourself started independently on March 2, 2008, being distributed through iTunes and its blog. At the time, podcasting had not "sorted itself out yet". Colin Andrew Mochrie (; born November 30, 1957) is a Scottish-born Canadian actor, writer, producer and improvisational comedian, best known for his appearances on the British and US versions of the improvisational TV show '' Whose Line Is It Anyway?''
