Tastiera (horse)
Tastiera(Japanese: タスティエーラ, Foaled March 22, 2020)is an active Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. His major wins include the Yayoi Sho and the Tōkyō Yūshun. His name was derived from an Italian word which means "Keyboard", which is related to his Dam's name. He was awarded the JRA Award for Best Three-Year-Old Colt for 2023. Racing career 2022: Two-year old season Tastiera made his debut at the Tokyo Racecourse on November 27, 2022, in a two-year old newcomer race on turf at the distance of 1800m. He was ridden by Ryan Moore and won the race. 2023: Three-year old season In Tastiera's first race of his three-year old season, he was entered in the Kyodo Tsushin Hai on February 12 for his first Graded stakes race challenge. The Kyodo Tsushin Hai (Tokinominoru Kinen) (Japanese 共同通信杯, ''kyōdō tsūshin hai'') is a Grade 3 horse race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds run in February over a distance of 1800 metres at Tokyo Racecourse. Officially known as the Kyodo Tsushin Hai, the race is named in honour of the undefeated racehorse Tokino Minoru. The race was first run in 1967 and was elevated to Grade 3 status in 1984. It was contested at variety of venues but has been run over its current course and distance since 1980. Winners of the race have included Mr C B, Narita Brian, El Condor Pasa, Jungle Pocket, Admire Moon and Gold Ship. Rey De Oro
Rey de Oro ( ja, レイデオロ, link=no foaled 5 February 2014) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. As a juvenile in 2016 he was undefeated in three races including the Grade 2 Hopeful Stakes and was rated one of the best two-year-old colts in Japan. In the following year he won the Tokyo Yushun and Kobe Shimbun Hai and finished second in the Japan Cup. At the end of the season he was rated one of the best three-year-old colts in the world and took the JRA Award for Best Three-Year-Old Colt. As a four-year-old in 2018 he won the Sankei Sho All Comers and took the autumn edition of the Tenno Sho. Background Rey de Oro is a bay horse with a white star bred in Japan by Northern Farm. Damian Lane
Damian Lane (born 6 February 1994) is an Australian jockey based in Victoria. Lane was born in Bunbury in Western Australia to Michael Lane, a horse trainer, and Vickey Lane, who was also a horse trainer. He grew up around horses because of his upbringing, and began his career in Western Australia in 2009, and later moved to Victoria. His first Group One winner was Trust In A Gust in the 2014 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield. As of mid-April 2023, he has ridden 1,335 winners, including 26 in Group One races. The Kisaragi Sho (Japanese きさらぎ賞) is a Grade 3 horse race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds run in February over a distance of 1800 metres at Kyoto Racecourse. The race is also known as the NHK Sho. The is a Japanese Grade 1 flat horse race in Japan for three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies run over a distance of 2,000 metres (approximately mile) at the Nakayama Racecourse, Funabashi, Chiba, in April. It was first run in 1939 and is the Japanese equivalent of the English 2,000 Guineas.
