Taranto Football Club 1927, commonly referred to as Taranto, is a professional Italian football club, based in Taranto, Apulia. Originally founded in 1927 by the union of two pioneering clubs that created the first city squad, Taranto currently plays in . Taranto is 19th in the all-time Serie B ranking, though Taranto has not played in Serie B since 1993, having played in the "serie cadetta" 31 times, more than any other Italian club which never played in Serie A. Ionian Sea
The Ionian Sea (, ; or , ; , ) is an elongated bay of the Mediterranean Sea. It is connected to the Adriatic Sea to the north, and is bounded by Southern Italy, including Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily, and the Salento peninsula to the west, southern Albania (and western Apulia, Italy) to the north, and the west coast of Greece, including the Peloponnese. Ternana Calcio
Ternana Calcio, commonly referred to as Ternana, is an Italian football club based in Terni, Umbria and currently compete in the Serie C. The club was founded in 1925 and refounded in 1993. In its history, Ternana has twice played in Serie A (in the 1972–73 and 1974–75 seasons) and 28 times in Serie B. Bubacarr Marong (born 10 January 2000) is a Gambian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Taranto. Club career Marong reached Italy in 2017 as a refugee from his native Gambia, reaching the Sicilian coast of Trapani after having spent months in Libya to save enough money to pay for the sailing trip. He was then relocated to Palermo, where he was noticed by Salvatore Tedesco, a former footballer and brother of Giacomo and Giovanni Tedesco, as well as Paolo Calafiore, head coach of Eccellenza amateurs Parmonval, based in the Palermo neighbourhood of Mondello, who eventually signed him, and with whom he played 30 games. The 2019–20 Serie D was the seventy-second edition of the top level Italian non-professional football championship. It represents the fourth tier in the Italian football league system. The season was ended in advance by the Italian Football Federation on 20 May 2020, after a two-month suspension, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. On 22 May, the ''Lega Nazionale Dilettanti'' formally proposed the nine first-placed teams for promotion to Serie C, with the four bottom teams in each group as the ones to be relegated in the Eccellenza league. The 2018–19 Serie D was the seventy-first edition of the top level Italian non-professional football championship. It represents the fourth tier in the Italian football league system. A total of 168 teams, divided on geographical grounds into six groups of 18 teams each and three groups of 20 teams each. Cavese 1919, commonly known as just Cavese, is an Italian football club based in Cava de' Tirreni, Campania, that currently plays in . The first city club was founded in 1919 as Unione Sportiva Cavese. It was refounded as Pro Cavese in 1974. In 2012, the club, known as S.S. Cavese 1919 S.r.l. at that time, merged with another local side "U.S.D. Pro Cavese 1394", but retained the "Cavese 1919" brand. The club was most recently in Serie B in 1984. The 2016–17 Lega Pro Divisione Unica was the third season of the unified Lega Pro division, the third highest division in the Italian football league system. The championship name, which is ''Divisione Unica'' according to the FIGC regulations, is nevertheless referred to as ''Lega Pro'' in official documents. Lega Pro
The Lega Italiano Calcio Professionistico (Italian for Professional Football Italian League), commonly known as Lega Pro (Pro League), is the governing body that runs the third tier of professional football competitions in Italy, the Serie C. It used several names in the past, including Lega Professionisti Serie C. It is a full member of European Leagues. History The league was created in 1959 as Lega Nazionale Semiprofessionisti by the FIGC Commissioner Bruno Zauli on the base of the old Lega IV Serie.
