Tanner Molendyk
Tanner Molendyk (born February 3, 2005) is a Canadian junior ice hockey defenceman for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He was drafted in the first round, 24th overall, by the National Hockey League's Nashville Predators in the 2023 NHL entry draft. Playing career During the 2022–23 season, Molendyk recorded nine goals and 28 assists in 67 games for the Saskatoon Blades. During the playoffs, he recorded three goals and five assists in 18 games, and helped the Blades advance to the Eastern Conference finals. He shared the lead for goals and finished second in points and assists among WHL defencemen in the playoffs. On July 6, 2023, Molendyk was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Nashville Predators. On January 6, 2025, Molendyk, along with Misha Volotovskii, was traded to the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for two players and five draft picks. McBride, British Columbia
McBride is a village in the Robson Valley region of British Columbia, Canada. The village is located southeast of Prince George, British Columbia, and west of Jasper, Alberta. Incorporated in 1932, McBride is located in the Robson Valley surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and Cariboo Ranges. History McBride was founded in 1913 as Mile 90 of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. Hlinka Gretzky Cup
The Hlinka Gretzky Cup is an annual international under-18 ice hockey tournament administered by Hockey Canada, the Czech Ice Hockey Association, and the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation. Held since 1991, it has been contested under various titles and in various countries, including Japan, Mexico, and Canada. From 1997 through 2017, hosting duties for the event alternated between, and were later split between, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. During this period, the event was known as the Nations Cup, the U-18 Junior World Cup, and Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar.
