Taj Mohiuddin
Taj Mohiuddin (born 1945, also Taj Mohi-ud-din) is a politician from Jammu and Kashmir and member of Democratic Azad Party. On 3 October 2022, Din was appointed as Treasurer for Democratic Azad Party. Din was the member of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly from Uri Assembly constituency during 2002-2008 and 2008-2014 as Indian National Congress candidate. Political career Taj Mohiuddin joined Indian National Congress in 1986. Despite being a resident of Jammu region, Din started his political career from Uri. Prior to Mohiuddin's victory over in 2002 from the constituency, Mohammad Shafi, a former National Conference leader, held the Assembly seat in Uri Assembly constituency for more than three decades. In the 2008 Assembly election, he won once more. Shafi regained the seat in 2014, although Mohiuddin had already established himself as a significant figure in the Congress by that point. Uri () is a town and a tehsil in the Baramulla district, in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Uri is located on the left bank of the Jhelum River, about east of the Line of Control with Pakistan. 2008 Jammu And Kashmir Legislative Assembly Election
Elections for the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir were held over seven days in November and December 2008. Ghulam Nabi Azad (born 7 March 1949) is an Indian politician who served as Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha between 2014 to 2021. He also served as the Chief Minister of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir from 2005 to 2008. On 26 September 2022, Azad announced his own political party as Democratic Azad Party. The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) is a regional political party in the Indian union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Founded as the ''All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference'' by Sheikh Abdullah and Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas in 1932 in the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, the organisation renamed itself to "National Conference" in 1939 in order to represent all the people of the state. Mohammad Shafi Uri popularly known as Babbar Sher (Lion) is a former member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
