It defeated ''Britannia III'' representing the UK’s Royal Yacht Squadron 7-2. The AC75 (America's Cup 75) is a racing yacht used in the 2021 America's Cup and 37th America's Cup matches and planned to be used for the 38th America's Cup match. The monohulls feature wing-like sailing hydrofoils mounted under the hull, a soft wingsail, and no keel. The America's Cup is a sailing competition and the oldest international competition still operating in any sport. America's Cup match races are held between two sailing yachts: one from the yacht club that currently holds the trophy (known as the defender) and the other from the yacht club that is challenging for the cup (the challenger). The Royal Yacht Squadron (RYS) is a British yacht club. Its clubhouse is Cowes Castle on the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron is a New Zealand yacht club, and the club behind New Zealand's America's Cup campaigns, under the guises of New Zealand Challenge and Team New Zealand. Grant Dalton
Grant Stanley Dalton is a New Zealand sailor who has competed in five Whitbread Round the World Races and was appointed manager of Team New Zealand in 2003, and is CEO of the team. He is also passionate about motor racing and is an avid F1 fan. In 2014 he started racing on the New Zealand motor racing circuit.
