Jahangir Tafazzoli
Jahangir Tafazzoli (1914–1990) was an Iranian journalist and government official during the Pahlavi period. He held various official posts and established a newspaper entitled ''Iran-e Ma'' (). He committed suicide on 20 December 1990. Early life and education Tafazzoli was born in Mashhad in 1914. His father was Gholamreza Mossadegh Al Sultan. After completing his primary education, he graduated from Ferdowsi High School in Mashhad and received a bachelor's degree in literature from the University of Tehran. Career and activities Tafazzoli started his career as a teacher at Iranshahr High School in Yazd. He joined the Tudeh Party and was a representative of its youth organization. Ahmad Tafazzoli
Ahmad Tafazzoli (December 16, 1937, Isfahan – January 15, 1997, Tehran) () was an Iranian Iranist and professor of ancient Iranian languages and culture at Tehran University. One of his most important books is ''Pre-Islamic Persian Literature''. Jaleh Amouzegar contributed in editing it. In January 1997, Ahmad Tafazzoli was found dead in Punak, a suburb northwest of Tehran near Jannat Abad. He was known to have contacts with Iranian academics working abroad, and many of his colleagues believed that the authorities were behind his death, as part of the chain murders of Iran. While the precise circumstances remained unclear, Tafazzoli's death created a climate of fear at the university and discouraged criticism of the government. Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli (born 1974) is an Iranian composer. Career Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli was born in 1974 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He started his musical education in the Boys Conservatory of Tehran and graduated in 1992. Before leaving for Russia in 2002 he graduated from the Music Academy in Azad University of Arts and Architecture. He studied composition in the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory of Music in Saint Petersburg, under Boris Tishchenko, a pupil of Dmitri Shostakovich and a prominent figure in the Saint Petersburg school of composition. He studied Polyphony and Musical Form and Analysis with Anatoli Milka and Igor Rogalev. He returned to Iran in 2007 soon after obtaining his Diploma With Honor from the conservatory. Ryan Sirous Tafazolli (born 28 September 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Wycombe Wanderers. Early life Tafazolli was born in Sutton, Greater London. He is of Iranian descent and has dual nationality. Club career Early career Tafazolli joined the Southampton Academy in 2005.
