''Tactical Manager'' is a football management simulator video game for the Amiga, Atari ST, and DOS platforms. It was developed by Camy Maertens of the then-defunct Essex-based UK developer ''Talking Birds'' and published by Black Legend Software in 1994. Gameplay ''Tactical Manager'' is a football management simulator that allows one to 46 players to play simultaneously. There are no set goals, but the aim is to manage a football team to be as successful as possible. To achieve this the player can pick the team, set tactics and buy and sell players. Reception ''Tactical Manager'' received mixed reviews. CU Amiga magazine rated the game 87%, calling it "Extremely involving", while Amiga User International magazine rated it 45% and said that the game looks dated when compared to other management games available. Giovanni Trapattoni (; born 17 March 1939), sometimes popularly known as "Trap" or "Il Trap", is an Italian football manager and former player, considered the most successful club coach of Italian football. ''Amiga User International'' (or ''AUI'') was a monthly computer magazine published in its later years by AUI Limited, it was the first dedicated Amiga magazine in Europe and in comparison to other Amiga magazines, AUI had a more serious perspective. One of the main features of AUI was the "AUI SuperDisks", which implemented multiple file systems and advanced compression techniques to hold far more data than a standard magazine cover disk. With a publishing history spanning over 15 years, it mixed content with technical and video game features. Black Legend was a British video game publisher predominantly active in the Amiga games market. Founded in Switzerland in 1992 by Richard M. Holmes, it moved to Hertfordshire (St Albans, then Welwyn), England, the following year when it became part of distribution company Kompart. Black Legend found success working with smaller developers, often from ex-Soviet Union countries. Following a stark decline of the Amiga games market in 1994, Black Legend shut down in 1996, followed by its German office in Mülheim an der Ruhr later that year.
