TLC (Australian TV Channel)
TLC, (formerly Discovery Travel & Adventure and Discovery Travel & Living) is an Australian and New Zealand television channel owned by Discovery Asia-Pacific. The channel launched 2004 in Australia and 2015 in New Zealand. In Australia TLC is available on pay TV provider Foxtel and IPTV provider Fetch, and in New Zealand the channel is available on pay TV provider Sky. TLC's female-focused programming mainly includes reality series about untraditional lifestyles, weddings, relationships, families and life transformations. True Crime programs on stories of love gone wrong and crimes of passion also feature. The channel broadcasts programs from the US and UK versions of the channel along with Quest Red (UK). 576i is a standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Discovery Kids (stylised as Discovery K!ds) was an Australian subscription television channel, aimed at 2-6 year olds screening factual and educational programming. The channel launched on Foxtel on 3 November 2014. The channel replaced Discovery Home & Health, whose select programming moved to TLC. The channel ceased operations on 1 February 2020, after which the channel space created in 2007 by Discovery Home & Health ceased to exist. No reason was given to why it ceased. Discovery Home & Health is a television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery that features lifestyle programming. Discovery Home & Health is available in Latin America, Australia, Republic of Ireland, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. It was formerly available on Australia's SelecTV from March 2007 until the closure of its English service in late 2007, but remained available through Foxtel and Austar. SelecTV was an Australian satellite based subscription television broadcasting service. As of January 2011, the service is no longer available. Services were carried on the Intelsat 8 satellite.
