Surprise () is a brief mental and physiological state, a startle response experienced by animals and humans as the result of an unexpected event. Surprise can have any valence; that is, it can be neutral/moderate, pleasant, unpleasant, positive, or negative. Surprise can occur in varying levels of intensity ranging from very-surprised, which may induce the fight-or-flight response, or little-surprise that elicits a less intense response to the stimuli. Construct Surprise is intimately connected to the idea of acting in accordance with a set of rules. When the rules of reality generating events of daily life separate from the rule-of-thumb expectations, surprise is the outcome. "Surprise" is a song by American singer Chlöe. It was released on June 17, 2022, through Parkwood Entertainment, as the third single from her upcoming debut studio album. An accompanying music video, directed by Diana Kunst, was released alongside the song. Background and release In 2021, Bailey released her debut solo single, " Have Mercy". She released her second single, "Treat Me", in April 2022. In May 2022, Bailey held an Instagram Live to choose which song she would release as the third single from her album. The three options were " For the Night", "Cheat Back", and "Surprise". On June 15, announced that she had chosen "Surprise" as the third single, and that it would release in two days. Fifteen was a punk rock band formed by Jeff Ott and Jack Curran. According to Ott, the band's only consistent member in its 11-year history, Fifteen had a revolving door total of fifteen members by the time the group disbanded in 2000: Jack Curran, Mikey Mischief, Mark Moreno, Jean Repetto, Lucky Dog, Chris Flanagan, John Ogle, Jesse Wickman, Joe Cable, John Quintos, Scott Pierce, Jim Prior, Lisa D., Vanessa Bain and Ott himself. History Fifteen formed in 1988 during the tail end of the Crimpshrine tour while Ott and Curran were writing songs together. After Crimpshrine broke up, Fifteen embarked on their first tour, in the summer of 1989. During this time, Jean Repetto played drums. Although the band drove across the country, they only played a handful of shows on this first tour. Upon returning from tour, Mike Goshert took over drums. ''Surprise'' is the fourth album by country music singer Sylvia. People Magazine reviewed it on 5.14.84: "Not only has Sylvia changed her look (with the help of makeup artist Way Bandy) to something that's as close to punk as any Nashvillian is likely to get, but she has also gotten a little rambunctious musically. Most of this album, such as William Davidson's "On the Other Side of Midnight" and the Dennis Morgan-Don Pfrimmer tune "Victims of Goodbye," is typical Sylvia, lilting ballads rendered with just the right touches of heartbreak. But there are also a couple of atypically revved-up tracks, especially "Give 'Em Rhythm," a rockabilly stomper by Morgan and Skeeter Davis that includes homages to Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis, and a lathered-up "One Foot on the Street." Sylvia is not likely to threaten, say, Lacy J. Dalton or any other honky-tonk honey, but she pulls off this digression with style and zest. ''Surprise'' is the first album released by Lynsey de Paul on the MAM record label in 1973. In Australia, the album name was changed to ''Sugar Me'', after de Paul's first hit single. All of the songs on the album were written or co-written by de Paul (half the tracks were re-recordings of her songwriting demos), who was accompanied by some of the UK's leading session musicians including Terry Cox, Ralph McTell, Ray Cooper, Jeff Daly, John Gustafson, Chris Rae, Danny Thompson, Gary Boyle, Barry de Souza, Dick Katz, Robert Kirby, Francis Monkman, John Richardson (who would later become the drummer in The Rubettes) and violinist Johnny Van Derrick.
