Sunday Life (newspaper)
''The Sunday Life'' is a tabloid newspaper in Northern Ireland and has been published since 23 October 1988. It is the sister paper of ''The Belfast Telegraph'' and is owned by Independent News & Media. History ''The Sunday Life'' was born on 20 April 1988, at that time the ''Belfast Telegraph'' was owned by the Thomson International Organisation. After getting the go-ahead at an executive meeting, Belfast Telegraph managing director Bob Crane called together his senior executives and they organised a private conference to plan the launch of the Sunday Life. He booked the small Drumnagreagh Hotel near Ballygally on the Antrim coast and there the blueprint for the ''Sunday Life'' was created. Crane made two immediate appointments – Ed Curran and Margaret Clarke. Curran, deputy editor of the Belfast Telegraph who joined the company in 1966, would be the editor. John McGurk
John McGurk (17 September 1874 – 22 November 1944) was a British coal miner and trade unionist. Born in Barnsley, West Riding of Yorkshire, McGurk grew up in Pendlebury, Lancashire, and began working at a coal mine aged 12. He became active in the Lancashire and Cheshire Miners' Federation (LCMF), and in 1908 was elected as the agent for its north-eastern area.David Howell,McGurk, John, ''Oxford Dictionary of National Biography'' McGurk was also active in the Labour Party. Liam Beckett
Liam Beckett MBE (born 17 July 1951) is a Northern Irish former football manager and player, who now works as a pundit and radio broadcaster. Playing career Starting his career after a five-year plumbing apprenticeship, Beckett won an Irish League title and Carlsberg Cup with Crusaders, before transferring to Drogheda United in December 1973. In 1975 he moved to Coleraine, before re-joining Crusaders in October 1979. However, he only remained at the club for nine days, returning to Coleraine after buying licensed premises in his hometown of Ballymoney. His playing career ended with Coleraine in 1981. Kyle Joseph George Lafferty (born 16 September 1987) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who currently plays for NIFL Premiership club Linfield and the Northern Ireland national team. Lafferty began his professional career with English side Burnley, where he made 89 appearances.
