''Summer Playhouse'' is a 30-minute CBS television anthology series. It was a summer replacement series made up of unsold pilots for projected regular series, airing sporadically from 1964 to 1967. It was produced by Don Fedderson, and among its notable stars were Fred MacMurray, Steve Allen, Jimmy Durante, and Jane Wyman. Don Fedderson
Donald Joy Fedderson (April 16, 1913 – December 18, 1994) was an American executive producer who created a number of television programs including '' The Millionaire'', ''My Three Sons'' and '' Family Affair''. Career Fedderson was born April 16, 1913, in Beresford, South Dakota. His family moved to Kansas, where he worked on the business and advertising staffs of The Wichita Eagle and Wichita Beacon newspapers. In 1942 he became an account executive of the San Francisco News and then sales manager of San Francisco radio station KYA, rising to president and general manager and collecting a Peabody Award for a program he developed. Los Angeles radio station KMTR was added to his charge when the New York Post bought it and KYA. KMTR changed call letters to KLAC in 1946 and added a television station, KLAC-TV, two years later. James Francis Durante ( , ; February 10, 1893 – January 29, 1980) was an American comedian, actor, singer, vaudevillian, and pianist. His distinctive gravelly speech, Lower East Side accent, comic language-butchery, jazz-influenced songs, and prominent nose helped make him one of America's most familiar and popular personalities of the 1920s through the 1970s. Nelson Case (February 3, 1910 – March 23, 1976) was an American radio and television announcer. Case was the son of Walter and Ethel Case. His father was a newspaperman, and his mother was a driving force in the Long Beach Community Players. He attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School and first worked as an announcer on the school's radio station. One of his early ventures into entertainment came when "as a youngster in Long Beach, he sang and played the uke for a band called the Sunset Symphonic Six." He was a graduate of the College of William & Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he met his future wife.
