Sumgayit FK
Sumgayit FK ( az, "Sumqayıt" futbol klubu, ) is an Azerbaijani football club based in Sumgayit that plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League. History The club was founded in 2010 as Sumgayit FK. In May 2011, the team secured their promotion to Azerbaijan Premier League after getting wildcard place instead of defunct Absheron. After securing promotion to the Premier League, the club based most of their squad on players from Azerbaijan's U-19 and U-17 players. In January 2012, the club announced that its old name was being restored. During 2012–13 season, Sumgayit narrowly avoided relegation to the First Division by finishing 10th in the league. In the 2017-18 season, they were the only team in the league consisting solely of Azerbaijani players. On 15 January 2019, Sumgayit announced they had signed a cooperation with Tractor Sazi. 2011–12 Azerbaijan Premier League
The 2011–12 Azerbaijan Premier League (known as the Unibank Premyer Liqası for sponsorship reasons) was the twentieth season of the Premier League since its establishment in 1992. Neftchi Baku was the defending champions, having won their second Azerbaijani championship the previous season. A total of twelve teams participated in the league, the ten sides remaining of the 2010–11 season, one promoted club from the 2010–11 Azerbaijan First Division and a totally new club instead of defunct First Division champions FC Absheron. The format of the league was same as 2010–11 season. The 2014–15 Azerbaijan Premier League was the 23rd season of Azerbaijan Premier League, the Azerbaijani professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. Qarabağ are the defending champions, having won the previous season. The season started on 9 August 2014 and ended on 28 May 2015. Teams Ravan Baku were relegated to Azerbaijan First Division. The format of the league not change as a total of 10 teams will contest the league, with the last club relegated and Araz-Naxçıvan promoted from the First Division. The competition format follows the usual double round-robin format. During the course of a season, which lasts from August to May, each club plays every other club four times, twice at home and twice away, for a total of 36 games. The Azerbaijan Cup 2013–14 is the 22nd season of the annual cup competition in Azerbaijan. The competition started on 23 October 2012 with three games in the First Round, with the fourth being played a week later on 30 October due to Ağsu's ground being used for the 2013 Azerbaijan Supercup.
