Stuart D. Lee
Stuart Dermot Lee (born 3 February 1966) is a British specialist in information technology at Oxford University Computing Services and a Reader (academic rank), Reader in E-learning at Oxford University, but is best known for his scholarly books on J. R. R. Tolkien. He is also an award winning playwright. Biography Lee was born in Dublin, Ireland. He was educated at Bancroft's School, Essex. He read English and Economics at the University of Keele. He gained an M.A. in English literature at King's College London, and gained his PhD in Old English literature there in 1992, with a thesis on "''Judith'', ''Esther'', and the ''Maccabees''". He then obtained a postgraduate certificate in Education. Lee briefly lectured at Royal Holloway and Bedford New College before moving to the University of Oxford, where he worked on the use of information technology for teaching. Tom Shippey
Thomas Alan Shippey (born 9 September 1943) is a British medievalist, a retired scholar of Middle and Old English literature as well as of modern fantasy and science fiction. He is considered one of the world's leading academic experts on the works of J. R. R. Tolkien about whom he has written several books and many scholarly papers. His book '' The Road to Middle-Earth'' has been called "the single best thing written on Tolkien". Elizabeth Solopova
Elizabeth Solopova is a Russian-British philologist and medievalist undertaking research at New College, Oxford. She is known outside academic circles for her work on J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth writings. Life Elizabeth Solopova was born in Russia and graduated from Moscow State University. She completed her PhD in English at the University of Oxford. Gergely Nagy is a Hungarian medievalist and Tolkien scholar. Biography Gergely Nagy was born in Szeged, Hungary. Nagy gained his PhD at the University of Szeged, where he teaches on Tolkien and Plato. Nagy has written numerous papers of Tolkien criticism. He contributed nine entries to the 2006 ''J. R. R. Verlyn Flieger (born 1933) is an author, editor, and Professor Emerita in the Department of English at the University of Maryland at College Park, where she taught courses in comparative mythology, medieval literature, and the works of J.
